This is kind of bizarre, and given the trend in user demographics on here lately, I'm not sure how many people are actually old enough to even be able to answer this.

For many years I have had this memory from childhood of riding some sort of powered roller coaster that emerges from a tunnel, turns, then re-enters the tunnel. I have never been able to figure out where I rode such a thing. Then, today, I went to Canada's Wonderland and rode Thunder Run. I'll be damned if it didn't seem identical to the memory in my head. Problem is, I had never been to Canada's Wonderland until today.

So that leads me to the question. I remember the Cinema 180 in Pirate Island would always have roller coaster POV footage. Does anyone remember if Thunder Run was one of the coasters on there? It is possible that I am actually remembering watching the film. Canada's Wonderland was a sister park, so it wouldn't be out of the question for one of their rides to be in the movie.

Jonathan, the coaster shown at Carowinds Cinema 180 was Kennywood's Thunderbolt.

Well there goes that theory. I will return to trying to figure out how I seem to have a memory of a coaster I never rode.

I dont remember Cinema 180, it was converted to an arcade at somepoint. I dont think it even lasted after AFX opened. Could it have been Smurf Mountain at KD?

I remember Cinema 180 and the arcade afterwards. I also remember the Flying Dutchman not far from it and all of the awesome water around that area. Water is something the park seems to want to keep taking away from us.

Could it have been the Smurf ride at Kings Dominion?

I don't remember it though I rode several times and don't think it was a coaster but perhaps that was what you remember?

Never went to Kings Dominion either when I was young to my knowledge. In my head it was something at Tweetsie, but I don't think they've ever had any ride that remotely fits that description. This mystery will probably remain unsolved.

The Myrtle Beach Pavilion opened the Little Eagle in 1986. It wasn't a powered coaster, but did have a tunnel.

Sounds a lot like the Mouse Mine Train at Tweetsie. http://tweetsie.com/explore-the-park/the-rides/ It is a train not a coaster but it goes into a tunnel, however only once.

I remember Cinema 180, however vaguely. I remember a POV coaster video but I have no clue what coaster it was. I remember a driving scene, too, but the memories are vague.
