General Carowinds discussion

Dani Swords told me during a tour that Bart preferred to get rid of trees that blocked rides. Now, seeing as Bart is Dick's son, I'm sure that was something passed down from Dick.

that would be a really nice spot.

Also, Carowinds should put more theme into the sections of the park. I've always thought that theme was what the park was lacking. What would be a really good idea (you don't have to agree with me) is retheming the county fair to medieval fair. The south gate could be themed into a castle. Afterburn would get a dragon theme (I like the name "Spit Fire" but Carowinds just changed the name from Top Gun back in 2008. Afterburn still fits with the dragon theme, right? The ride is themed After a dragon burns down a village), Thunder Road could get a dueling dragons or jousting theme, bumper cars..... I don't know, Yo Yo could be some type of swirling swords or something, Boo Blasters is fine, and maybe turn action theater into a castle for a Wonder Mountain's Guardian Ride..... er Wonder Castle's Guardian. The shops could be in a European theme, blah blah blah, and done! You have Medieval Fair. For a paint job, Afterburn should use the banshee colors (like KI painting Invertigo to match stinger). Afterburn's station could get rethemed into a some type of ruined castle (ex. Swarm at Thorpe Park). Thunder Road should use Timber Liner trains with dragons at the head of the train. Maybe add a high five feature.

I just wish Carowinds would bring back the level of theme they had during the Paramount era. When Cedar Fair bought the park, the theme started dying out slowly  . Medieval Fair would be a great way to bring back the theme into the theme park.

I respect your views and opinions but I must say I disagree with nearly everything you just said. :D

Paramount did very little in the way of themeing. Very Little.

Cedar Fair has slowly been giving the park a culture facelift. Could it use some more? Absolutely.

The whole County Fair theme, imo, is great, the area kinda looks like a fairground, but they need more flats. And there's the entryway with the big lightbulbs, that's definitely 'county fair' themed. I think they shouldn't change it, just continue to improve it.

The whole "midieval fair" themeing would'nt work considering they are removing the south gate, plus I don't think its that appealing, whereas "County Fair" is something relatable to locals and tourists alike. Everyone has memories of a county fair. Especially people who live in the Carolinas.

And Thunder Road is a classic Carowinds coaster, themed to moonshine racing, like the film of the same name that inspired it, why change it? Isn't that removing Carolina theme? And Afterburn is getting a new paint job like the american flag, so doibt anytime soon they'd even think of retheming that one. And they shouldn't.

County Fair is a classic area of the park, you'd be removing the carolina theme, not adding to it.

Remove AFX, move Scream Weaver back to the County Fair. Add a Ferris Wheel, Top Spin, Caterpillar(Himlaya), and a new outdoor amphitheater. Enclosed the Ampitheatet in Snoopy area and put a new thrill ride where Scream Weaver is/was. Make the rides in new County Fair appear transportable but actually be permanent models.

Yes add more classic carnival midday rides typical of a county fair. Octopus, Cobra, Himalaya, ferris wheel, tilt-a whirl-etc. And some big flats like a giant swing or giant frisbee. And more carnival games, cotton candy etc. County Fair is a great theme, just needs upgrading.

Yep. I call that the classic "Dick Trickle".

Move scrambler over there, while you're at it. It's a perfect "County Fair" ride. That might piss off some people though because it's never been moved, right?

Is Wild Bull really in storage still or was that an urban legend?

I don't want to see action theater go to waste yet. I was hoping Cedar Fair would put in "Mumble's Wild Ride" from happy feet. I'm also hoping Carowinds gets a water ride like Pilgirm's Plunge at Holiday World or Shoot the Rapids from Cedar Point. I didn't look up the price for either of those rides, but Carowinds needs another water ride. Intimidator replaced the log flume (which I am not complaining about because those logs HURT) and now we're down to 2 water rides outside of the waterpark. I just hope the boat doesn't flip over :(
