I just wish Carowinds would bring back the level of theme they had during the Paramount era. When Cedar Fair bought the park, the theme started dying out slowly 
. Medieval Fair would be a great way to bring back the theme into the theme park.
I respect your views and opinions but I must say I disagree with nearly everything you just said.
Paramount did very little in the way of themeing. Very Little.
Cedar Fair has slowly been giving the park a culture facelift. Could it use some more? Absolutely.
The whole County Fair theme, imo, is great, the area kinda looks like a fairground, but they need more flats. And there's the entryway with the big lightbulbs, that's definitely 'county fair' themed. I think they shouldn't change it, just continue to improve it.
The whole "midieval fair" themeing would'nt work considering they are removing the south gate, plus I don't think its that appealing, whereas "County Fair" is something relatable to locals and tourists alike. Everyone has memories of a county fair. Especially people who live in the Carolinas.
And Thunder Road is a classic Carowinds coaster, themed to moonshine racing, like the film of the same name that inspired it, why change it? Isn't that removing Carolina theme? And Afterburn is getting a new paint job like the american flag, so doibt anytime soon they'd even think of retheming that one. And they shouldn't.
County Fair is a classic area of the park, you'd be removing the carolina theme, not adding to it.
I do agree with the flat ride idea. Is it too late to add a ferris wheel though? Fits with the county fair theme. KD added Americana in 2009.
