At least five people were injured earlier tonight on a ride called the Vortex at the N.C. State Fair in Raleigh. Here's a link to a news story:

Sad incident. WBTV-3 even sent a live local reporter to Raleigh to cover this story. Some sort of computer glitch or computer malfunction made the ride start again as riders were still exiting the ride. Sorry to hear. But accident aside, this looks like a great type of flat ride that Carowinds should add, along with a giant swing and giant Frisbee. And the other Vortex version in the above posted video looks like a great ride also. I would like to see Carowinds add more of these carnival midway, county fair type of flat rides.

North Carolina Police believe a mishap that hurt several people at the state fair was no accident. They have arrested the operator of a ride that crashed and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon.

I actually rode that ride the day before. I hope everyone is ok that was injured. Upside tho I checked technical park's website and they have some nice flat rides that Carowinds could definitely use in the park.
