I think GR8 SK8 should be moved anyway to a new location more into the kid park or something, but I don't know. If they do remove it, it will be a big loss to a great flat ride we have..

Just checked the webcam and yea there is definately something going on over there in the pond... Pretty excited because I l want to do sky flyer again..

Move Gr8 Sk8 to the County Fair next to Dodgems or infront of Thunder Road.

^ I don know that it would be a good fit, only because southern star is already there... so why have another flat that is very similar, just not upside down. I dont know though, I guess I could see it happening but to me it doesn't make sense... I could see it being moved into planet snoopy somewhere, maybe in the back corner toward where the cars used to be... I dont know I didn't go back there this year so I dont even know what its like anymore. My kids have really outgrown the helicopters and the boats etc. so I don't ever go back there...

I cant think of any room in PS, but the old Cinema 180 area could use a ride across from Cobra. Make it part of the Boardwalk and call it the Boardwalk Rainbow. It will be a shame if Gr8 Sk8 is removed completely.

I think one of the main things that should be done to the park is the re-tracking of Hurler. That ride is fun, fast and furious but the bumpiness really kills the experience. Kentucky Kingdom called in RMC to fix Thunder Run for only $1 million. Carowinds needs to hop on the RMC bandwagon and get the ride re-tracked. If the park is not willing to re-track Hurler, the ride really needs some timberliners.

Hurler had it's third turn retracked twice in 2006, it did not improve the ride. Did RMC use topper track or regular track on Thunder Run? Hurler needs atleast the Thunder Road treatment, support system has as much as do with as track and weather. I say Iron Horse Hurler and be done with it.

Changing the trains may or may not help, just like different wheels may or may not help. There are atleast a dozen variables in how a wooden coasters rides, weather is a big one.

@Tarheel1231,
You have to understand something about wooden coasters. They are pretty much a living thing. Unlike a steel coaster everything for the most part remains the same. Sure weather does play a role in both types of coasters (steel and wood) But weather plays a big role on the wooden.

You're quite a few years late the skyride has come and gone along with the monorail. You probably wasnt born yet when it ran. Honestly we are going to have to except the fact the carowinds is no longer a "theme" park but infact an amusement park which so very generic. Just come and ride and leave lol.

What was in Carowinds' past shall also be part of its future.
