Sorry Tarheel, have no knowledge of that project. They better be though, as they announced them for 2014.

As far as the sky coaster, what has been shown on the webcam should be enough to confirm what I have told you regarding that. Please keep in mind that it takes far longer to put something up than it does to take it down. There are phases that have to each be completed before the next can begin. Also weather will affect some phases.

I must admit, I highly doubted a lot of what you said but slowly, things are taking shape. With that said, it's still an "I'll believe it when I see it" in regards to the Sky Ride. I hope you're right!

I'd be very happy to see it go. It is a waste of space and would be a great location if Cedar Fair decided to build a resort. I did notice it only said Hamricks, Not all tenants so the current owners may just have bigger plans for where Hamrick's is but I hope it's a sign the mall is going away.

^Seriously? There are a large number of people who don't want or can't stay at a campground. And a hotel will hold many more people and attract a larger audience from further away. I wouldn't say no to an expanded campground but a hotel is a 'must have' if Carowinds wishes to become a 'destination' park.

As for the mall I think it's pretty absurd to say it's a 'waste of space.' Ever since the remodel into Plaza Fiesta a few years ago, the mall always has seemed packed when I go to Carowinds. It's a cool place to go not far from the park, with some different and much cheaper food options. Also it's bad for all the small businesses that litter the mall. Where are these stands supposed to go? The last thing North Carolina needs is more unemployment.

If Carowinds DOES intend to buy it, it would be stupid to tear it down. They could put a hotel on the side and maybe create some sort of indoor waterpark or some other mixed use development. Lots of options here other than a wrecking ball.

Plaza Fiesta was decent a few years ago but a lot of the tenants have closed up. Most of the spots are vacant already. The Building itself is poorly maintained. I been there for installations a few times. Most of the cars you see are for Hamricks, 90% of its customers are senior citizens. There is a lot of potential in that building, but how its being used now, I say is a waste. I like the hotel/water park idea. But I think its kinda far from the park with roads in between. They would need a good shuttle service/tram to the park. But I can see it happening.
