Why are any of you expecting an announcement for 2015 so soon? They don't do that. You'll get a 2015 announcement at the end of 2014 when the news will be used to sell passes for SCarowinds 2014 and the 2015 season. As usual.

I can't wait until Banshee is completely fabricated and a strange piece of track shows up at the B&M plant. It's so fun watching folk speculate about what type of track it is and where it is going. Then there are the track pieces seen headed down the interstate, I love it.

I wish they would work on the last sections of track going into the tunnels. That's the absolute head knocker on both sides ugh.

Seems kind of bizarre that the lift hill is being retracked again after it was just part of the first phase of retracking. How much wear could really be happening there? Obviously it's not a comfort issue either.

Hurler's third turn was retracked prior to 2006 season then midseason 2006. 1/5 of a wooden coaster is replaced every winter from what I have heard.

A turn in the middle of the course and a lift are not even really comparable. There is virtually no force being exerted on the lift track and structure other than gravity and the weight of the train.

Exactly!! Especially when they are not in constant operation, it's not like they run both sides at the same time ALLLL season long. Wear and tear should not be an issue at this point on a section of track that just got replaced and gets no force pushed or pulled on it.

It's been awhile since I was last on Carowinds Connection, so this will probably sound like a really stupid question. But, does anyone know when construction will begin with the new waterslides?

^Not a stupid question at all. It WAS supposed to start in fall but now that it's winter, we still haven't seen any pieces of it. No ground clearing or anything.

Actucally the PR said on a news brief back in November that the waterslide construction would not start until late winter early spring. It's not really to much to do plus the waterpark doesn't open until the last weekend in May as usual so I see why that would be.
