Okay, I know we are all lost in this Giga hype, and rightfully so. But I have a question about Afterburn. Sites such as RCDB list it at 113 feet high. I have heard throughout my life that Afterburn is 144 feet. Can someone clarify this? I've also heard that the drop is 125 feet. Seeing that Raptor has a 119 foot drop and goes 57 mph would lead me to believe a ride 113 feet tall should be a bit slower than 62 mph.... I just need some clarification.
Afterburn is 144 above the ground at the highest point of the lift, above the parking lot. But from the station it's only 113 to the top of the lift. Afterburn's station kind of sits on a hill, which skews all these numbers.
To follow up the post regarding the repainting of Flight Deck at CGA, formerly Top Gun:
Doesn't look awful, but it makes me appreciate how stellar our Afterburn looks with its color scheme! Especially after the new paint job it just received!
I do like Top Gun's paint scheme (it will always be Top Gun). The alternate idea though of a Patriot like job would have been awesome too. Even if it is another red B&M... Patriot is one amazing looking coaster.
