General Carowinds discussion

It does look like a survey map. However, two weeks ago I was eating lunch in my car between old Plaza Fiesta and the empty Cedar Fair lot off of Carowinds Blvd. I do this every once and a while to chill out during the work day. The survey crew was out on these areas. I am especially interested in plots 5, 8, 10. I asked the crew what they were doing and they said a large project for Carowinds. Ok. Makes sense. However, let's go back to the announcement at the City of Charlotte meeting. They said that this will forever change the view from Interstate 77. Could the coaster actually be in plots 5, 7, 10 before a turnaround back to the park? Interesting thought. Don't dismiss it. What do you think. Remember its a Giga Coaster and would have the speed and height for this long of a track. Maybe the record breaking is the length. Just a thought from a non-engineer. :D

You could be on to something. They are really selling Banshee as being 'the longest invert', Leviathan broke every Canadian record. GateKeeper broke records for it's coaster class. So I would not be surprised if our coaster did not break some type of record for the US. That 'Southeast' title will no longer cut it if they are trying to move Carowinds into a different class.

With the similarity to Leviathan and the rumor that it was originally planed for Carowinds, it makes you wonder if this is actually an old plan for that upgrade?

That's news to me...i thought the rumor was that Leviathan was planned for Knott's Berry Farm.

Those survey plans look like gibberish to me. But I am not an architect nor engineer. So it will indeed be nice when we know something more definitive. But it will indeed be interesting to see if the coaster dominates the front entrance and goes out into the parking lot.

And I-305 was originally planned for Carowinds. Supposedly going in the bus lot where this one will go. Hence the reason I-305 is smaller and more compact. I heard the reason for the last minute change, but I can't recall it at the moment.
