Matt, that has been discussed many times in previous posts. Basically dude giving the presentation was giving stats for a Giga, but was showing pictures of Cedar Fair's latest coaster, GateKeeper. Somewhere along the way he got them crossed. But who knows, this also could have been a calculated diversion to throw folk like us off.

I would rather see a Leviathan style giga rather than a wing coaster. But I have not ridden Wild Eagle nor Gatekeeper, so it is difficult for me to say how they compare to a more traditional giga. And is it feasible to build a 300ft wing coaster? I hope the city council meeting was mistaken about the wing coaster.

Having ridden Wild Eagle I will say this: it was a fun ride but in no way is it better than a giga would be. I put the B&M floorless, hypers & flying (Manta anyway) coasters I've ridden above it. I will say it was better than the dive coasters however (SheiKra & Griffon).

As far has having a 300ft+ wing coaster...I just don't see it. It would definitely be interesting that's for sure. I'm no engineer, but what kind of inversions would be safe at those speeds? I'm sure that could be worked out, but I don't see CF risking something like that just yet.

As long as the coaster doesn't go upside down, I'm find with whatever we get. I just have a problem with roller coasters over 200 feet going upside down (with the exception of Dive Coasters).

Could anyone estimate the approximate day for announcement based on projects for other parks that started construction later? I am aware that we may see dirt moving beggining sometime within the next month, and intimidators started before the season. Intimidators announcement was around August (if I remember correctly) so would this God be announced the same time regardless of construction?

Unless they feel that to much information has gotten out or other some other reason that would make it necessary I think they will stick to August announcements unless they have planned to release it earlier.

Fun fact - if you go to the Board Index at the bottom, it will tell you when the most ever users online were. Currently it says "Most users ever online was 149 on August 26th, 2009, 11:29 am." This is pretty much the exact minute Intimidator was announced.

I would still bet on a August announcement regardless if anything else leaks. The general public is largely ignorant to the goings on of next year. So until track shows up, (which is the perfect time to buy 2015 season passes) there's no reason to show all your cards any earlier.

I bet when they announce the 2015 attraction, there will be more than 159 people that are looted on at once.

I would imagine they may start making teaser announcements sometime this summer, but these will not necessarily be the actual ride. Remember the White Lightnin teases and The Bat teases before Intimidator and Banshee.
