Now, I know that all yous guys are thinkin that this topic is stupid, pointless, etc...
I know it is early but I am just wondering what you guys are thinking.
I also know that we just got the borg and we should be talking about it because it's the best thing we've gotten for the past 5 years, but I am curious about this anyway. Please take this topic serously. I know there's alot some "please specify"s up there, please take those serously too. I am being very defensive with this post from PAST EXPERIENCE!!! <_<

If you think two of these things will happen, vote for the one you think they will market/advertise for more as the major addition.

They really do need to bring backsome good entertainment. Due to budget cuts, the entertainment department was striped from its shows and even stages from the late 90's to 2002. After 2002 Carowinds lost the Market Place Stage, which was a big bummer to us. Now the only think we can perform on is the concrete block at North Gate and the "stage" built in a flower bed in Carolina Boardwalk. It is a shame that live entertainment has been falling out of Carowinds. Hopefully after a sucessful year this year with "Magic of the Movies", it will bring the crowds back to the Paramount Theater so we can have a real show in there next year...like the ones of yesterday such as "Graveyard Shift", "Tropicale" and "All Shook Up" Its esp a shame for young performers around this year cut oppritunity because of these budget cuts.

I think the conversion of Harmony Hall into Scooby Doo's HM was a big blow to the live entertainment department. Back in 2002 and 2003, other than some kids shows the park had almost no entertainment.

I miss the big shows like Paramount On Ice and Retro-Active, but the park's target audience just doesn't want shows these days. The only parks I can think of that still have alott of shows are Dollywood and Busch Gardens. Opryland in Nashville also had alott of shows, but it's been closed for 7 years now.

I think that the park will remodel WaterWorks into Boomerang Bay for 2005. That seems like the most logical thing to happen. Maybe a flat or two because Paramount has started buying them again. (Tomb Raider, Delerium)

I'm thinking it will be a flat ride or 2. The waterpark is fine although a new slide wouldn't hurt. Preferably some hi-tech flat rides like PCW has.

I think that they will put a Flat Ride in that bald Area where the Whirling Dervish used to be. That right now is the Most wasted space in the Park. They can't put anything huge there but they can put something smaller in there.

Please? :)

Carowinds actually had a Flyer ordered for the park for 2003. They decided to put it in PCW instead. Although I would like to see one here, I'd like some more hi-tech flats too.

Jonathan, you're thinking JUST like me on that one. Aren't we the only Paramount park without Flying Scooters now? I love those things, although have only gotten a few flights at PKD and PKI and haven't really learned the tricks to snapping them, etc. - but I still have a blast on them. Abso-freaking-lutely perfect location would be the old Whirling Dervish spot, beside / under Top Gun's Immelman. If not there I vote for Thrill Zone, which needs something else there.

I think we've about exhausted all the small coaster possibilities at the park - we have a junior woodie, Taxi Jam, junior inverted, family inverted/water coaster, and a wild mouse. All that's left among current coaster types that would be a realistic possibility (i.e. we're not going to see any more Arrow suspendeds) are a hyper, floorless, impulse, Intamin rocket, or some sort of other full-circuit launch coaster. None of those would be a small investment so I'm 99% sure we will see none of the above next year.

Ok so the hyper rumor will have to wait at least one more year, and the other large coasters are also pretty much out of the question. There isn't anything small they could put in coaster wise without having serious duplication of what we already have, so that leaves.....

Flat rides, and / or waterpark re-theme / expansion. My thinking is we'll get a major flat ride like PKI's Delerium or one of the ones at PCW, plus maybe the Flying Scooters or something else smaller along those lines, and a minor retheme of WaterWorks to Boomerang Bay, with maybe another slide or two. This would be similar to 2001, when the park added Scooby's Haunted Mansion, Pipeline Peak to the waterpark, and 7th Portal to the Action F/X theater. These would be the kind of additions that would add value to the park experience without being big enough to upstage BORG, which should still be a good draw into next year.

They might skip the flats and just do a big makeover to the waterpark, but I don't see it as necessary myself. While the lines there do get long in the summer, they'd have to double the amount of slides to have any real impact on the lines - and even then I bet there would just be that many more people that would wait in line for them. Another thing that will help the waterpark lines is keeping White Water Falls up and running, as that can suck in a huge number of people that want to get wet. Oh, and even bigger - keep the lazy river up - that's in the waterpark and will occupy a large group of people as well - and it's my favorite thing to do on a summer day when I head to the park after work.

I think even if the waterpark is the 2005 improvement, they'd add something else elsewhere in the park. I hope so, anyways.

Honestly I do not like the idea of a waterpark mixed in with a theme park. However I do like the fact that the waterpark does take out alot of the crowd for the coasters. I would be happy with Drop Zone simply being upgraded to at least 200 ft. I do not see a park doing such a thing though.
