Holy WHOOTAH. I will be going down in two weeks also. I bet we can meet and ride some of those coasters down there. O wait. I am already meeting you there.

Maybe the wild man from Spring Fling will make an appearance.

Wow, that is crazy. I too am going down there in 2 weeks. In fact me and my dad already got a sweet condo for the weekend. Perhaps you two should help me fill out the place and save on hotel costs. Just a thought.

..Why do I have the strange feeling that I will be laughing during the entire duration of Hurricane..

OH MY GOD! This is WHOOTASTIC!!! It just so happens, purely by circumstance, that I AM GOING THERE IN TWO WEEKS TOO! It must be synchronicity!!! B)

Oh yea and there's talk about "The Wild Man" being there! Things can get pretty crazy on a coaster with that dude around. I know he's a big fan of the foliage and I'm sure it will be in abundance. That should help the asthetic aspects of such a trip.

The wife and I will be staying in seperate accomodations (no offense Jammin) as we have some extra-curricular activities planned that would not likely be appreciated in the context of your condo! ;)

Well, not a rough as "The Wild Man" but yea... rough is good. ;)

Really though, we should keep it "On the Down Low" as Jonboy doesn't want to lose the mysterious anonymity he's managed to maintain through his covert Grape Nehi excersions even in the face of his hidden Moonpie desires.

BTW - Fortunately for you, the Cat 5 Coaster doesn't have any water bombs AND as a bonus, I understand the volcano at Hawaiian Rumble has been known to some as the "vibrating volcano"....hmmmm. :P

I finally rode Hurricane for the first time last year and man is it wild. This baby is rougher then any of our coasters (although Hurler is getting close ) I think they gave it steel supports in case of an actual Hurricane that might weaken. I can't see any Hurricane wiping it out since it's older neighbor Swamp Fox has stood the test of time. I do find it funny that an actual Hurricane could wipe out Hurricane .

Just rode it this weekend. This year so far it's a little smoother than last, but still pretty rough. Of course, I only rode it twice, both times in the back seat. So, I really can't give any details as to how smooth it is or isn't in the front.

Had to take the little one on some rides. He got his first coaster ride ever. Iron
Eagle for two laps. He didn't even cry. Not bad for a 23 month old kid. Of course I was there to hold his hand the whole way.

Wild Mouse was pretty quick this week. To me it rode faster than Ricochet. Of course I haven't ridden Ricochet this year.

^^Congrats to the little ones first coaster ride. I still remember mine when I was 4 at the Jacksonville Zoo (FL). I was scared to death!!

If the Hurricanes back seat was tolerable then I'm sure the front was even more so. Last season we could only ride the back once it was so rough. We finished the night easily with many more front seat rides.

Also, last year the Pavilion's Mad Mouse was running totally brakeless. Although I prefer the Mack versions over Arrow's, those brakeless runs are way fun!

I've got videos from the Pavilion and Family Kingdom (shot a couple weeks ago) up Here. I was really excited to see that Hurricane had a lot of new wood put down. The potholes that I remembered from 2001 were gone. Swamp Fox was running insane as always.

So, if the park is going, what's going to happen with the rides? Do they plan on moving the Hurricane or just dumping it? I remember I rode it one of the first seasons it was open and it was a great ride.

I've heard that the rides were going to the Hard Rock Park;but, that's just a rumour. Nothing is really known at this time. The last thing that I heard was that the Pavilion would be moving to a spot near the new ballpark that's located near Broadway at the Beach. Personally, I couldn't see the Hard Rock Park taking the rides from the Pavilion. I'm assuming that they'll move the Hurricane.

Very interesting...Thanks Max. By the way, we haven't chatted in a while - send me an e-mail sometime!

Side note to this thread: For those going in a few weeks here, do give a report on how it is running. I will be at Sunset Beach (just North of Myrtle) the week of June 5th through the 12th I believe. If anyone is out that way during that week, let me know, I'll be glad to meet up at the park.
