I spoke with one of the employees at Skytower, and was told that Carowinds may remove it next year. I find this sad because of how iconic it is, and how it really reflects Carowinds history. Hopefully it doesn't happen. What are your thoughts?

Just rumors. Operators don't (or at least shouldn't) know the future plans of the park. It sounds like a case of gossip.

Ok, I highly doubt this! Knotts Berry Farm was going to replace Skycabin with Windseeker but all of sudden, plans changed. Looks like it is a good thing that they did. Ride operators aren't normally in the know especially this early in the season, furthermore what would replace Skytower, it is very boxed in and take up little space. Don't trust the Dippin' Dots guy or the Lemon Chill girl,

They could do what Leisberg did and turn the sky tower into an Intamin giant drop ride and just take out the existing drop tower and replace it with a flat ride.

If they lower Windseeker's height restriction, that wouldn't be a bad idea. I swear Windseeker is just an open Skytower or a giant kiddy ride.

I wish the park had something more iconic as a center piece, like the Eiffel Tower at Island and Dominion or a Wonder Mountain. The sky tower is kind of bland.

Cedar Fair needs to stop REMOVING flats (like Gr8 Sk8!) and should add new ones. They shouldn't take one step forward with this expansion, only to take two steps back in the long run.

I would really like it if Carowinds turned the sky tower into a drop ride because then our drop tower would rank up with Kings Dominion and Kings Island's drop towers. Also, they could put the 90 degree rotating seats on like Falcons Fury. I think the current drop tower is in a perfect spot for an S&S Scream'n Swing. And Wind seeker could be our observation ride.

Drop Zone could easily be replaced with a larger one if they want. Already set up pretty much.
Plenty of other places to put a S&S, in the area between Vortex and the theater, in the area behind/side of Chik-Fil-A, etc?
How many little children can ride Wind Seeker?
Plus, another Air Conditioned, sit down and relax spot gone?
