Forces can be engineered correctly for any coaster of any height and speed.

Positive Gs are only uncomfortable when you have prolonged exposure.

Steel Phantom hit 85 mph before it's first loop and it had 4 loops. That rides problems weren't the forces.

I predict that we will have a brand new coaster on opening day for thr 2015 season. There is not much to clear no matter what path this coaster will take, with the exception of the entrance changes and the possible tunnel. Nothing like Intimidator prep work removing the flume ride first. Even if you saw them marking utilities or footers or anything else like that, that wouldn't tell you manufacturer or type or features or height, just that construction was starting.

Steel Phantom hit 80 mph, Phantom Revenge is 85. When Phantom's Revenge replaced Steel Phantom, the 4 inversions went with it. You can engineer inversions correctly for that height/speed, but the inversions would have to be massive or in the latter part of the ride experience after riders were subjected to other forces. Then you get down to cost/effectiveness and ride-ability.

That being said, I've been thinking about this ride lately, and my guess is instead of a B&M wing coaster, a Sky Rush esque experience.

I would be so happy if we got a Skyrush clone :D

And on terns of Giga Inversions, anything is possible as long as you throw enough money at it. Something like a 300 foot tall loop is definitely possible, just very expensive because of the massive amount of supports on something that large with that many sustained g's would have. The most likely giga inversion would have to be a low g element that didn't require many supports, like a rolling element of some sort, as in a giant zero-g roll or giant drawn out corkscrew like on Gatekeeper.

What was the reason the loops were removed from Phantom? And was it a better ride before or after? ... As for Skyrush, it would be great if we got a giga version of that coaster at Carowinds. But I am not sure it will be Intamin. Most likely a B&M similar to Leviathan. Perhaps a bit taller or longer. But still speculation until an official announcement.

Due to the amount of pain riders experienced, it was an unpopular attraction.

It was extremely rough and supposedly had low ridership. Yes, it is a much better ride since they delooped it. Its just too short in my opinion. It seems like it really gets started and then it ends. Although I love the last bunny hops. Great airtime.

Last time I was at Carowinds (May 18) Another enthusiast and I noticed some spray paint markings on the ground right before the Ticket stands and security. Could the be markings for the new coasters supports?
