Pretty much it's only appeal is to families/tweens. It's bigger than the kiddie rides, but not as big as anything that's remotely fun. Cedar Fair has removed or allowed most most of the theming to deteriorate, leaving a lackluster LOOKING ride. To be fair to Cedar Fair, they're not much for theming, so i can't completely fault them, it didn't look that great when Paramount had it either.
As for the ride itself, it sucks. The launch is alright, and the tunnel is alright. Everything else is lame, and only caters to the themeing.. which is no longer there. Paramount is also guilty of over hyping this as an "adult" coaster instead of something the families could enjoy together.
Kind of odd this was their last set of coasters before they sold to Cedar Fair. I really would hate to see how the parks would have looked if Paramount still somehow held on to them, Italian Job was an omen of terribly themed, lame coasters to come.
Simply put, you could utilize the any tract of land a lot better, with a new original idea. "Family" coasters are a very under utilized part of the amusement park world, and it doesn't seem like it would be hard to make something good.
..But I would still take it over Top Thrill Dragster.
