Remove the putt putt and place a water themed flat ride since it's right near boomerang bay. I think a crypt style ride like at kings dominion with the water effects would be great. It would tie into the theming of the waterpark.

Last I checked no one has a crystal ball and no one can predict the future.

Use this checklist and some common sense to determine if it will be crowded-

1. Is it a weekend?
2. Is it a holiday?
3. Are the local schools out for the year?
4. Is it going to be a nice sunny day?
5. Are there new things at the park opening up?

If the answers to any of these are "Yes" it will be somewhat crowded. The more "Yes's" you have the more crowded it will be.

Just so I stay on topic I wish that the Skytower stays with the park forever and ever, and is never removed or has anymore maintenance difficulty. :?

Flats, flats and ummm more flats.

Simple, cheaper than coasters, more choices for all. Just have up to date Flats, not 10 year old flats. I'm not going to list them all but all you have to do is look in our sister parks and can figure it out.

I really wish that Cedar Fair would remove either hurler (as much as I love it) or Vortex, and and put in a condensed version of a launch coaster like Wicked Twister or Top Thrill Dragster.

Even though I have never ridden a Backlot Stunt Coaster I think if they were to take away vortex that would be a great place to add it or one similar to it. Its not an ultimate launch coaster like TTD but hey its a start. The area that vortex covers is not that big so if they ever replace it they would have to have a small compact coaster in about the same footprint.
Has anyone on the forum rode a backlot stunt coaster? How is the ride experience?

Pretty much it's only appeal is to families/tweens. It's bigger than the kiddie rides, but not as big as anything that's remotely fun. Cedar Fair has removed or allowed most most of the theming to deteriorate, leaving a lackluster LOOKING ride. To be fair to Cedar Fair, they're not much for theming, so i can't completely fault them, it didn't look that great when Paramount had it either.

As for the ride itself, it sucks. The launch is alright, and the tunnel is alright. Everything else is lame, and only caters to the themeing.. which is no longer there. Paramount is also guilty of over hyping this as an "adult" coaster instead of something the families could enjoy together.

Kind of odd this was their last set of coasters before they sold to Cedar Fair. I really would hate to see how the parks would have looked if Paramount still somehow held on to them, Italian Job was an omen of terribly themed, lame coasters to come.

Simply put, you could utilize the any tract of land a lot better, with a new original idea. "Family" coasters are a very under utilized part of the amusement park world, and it doesn't seem like it would be hard to make something good.

..But I would still take it over Top Thrill Dragster.

Considering that Carowinds retracted the first turn and hill of Hurler, I don't think it's going anywhere. I agree that Vortex is simply terrible, and a Wicked Twister would be great! But a stratacoaster... will never happen.

I rode TTD last year and loved it! But, at a price tag of $25,000,000, high maintenance, and a very short ride time, it's just not worth the money. There's a reason that only two have been built, and a stratacoaster like TTD would need a lot more space than the area that Vortex currently occupies.

It would be really cool if we could keep Hurler and put a launch coaster beside it and have the start ion where the Scarowinds haunt is that is next to Carolina Cyclone. You could have it launch out of the station and have lots of twists and turns. And at the middle or end, you could make it go through Hurler's structure which would be awesome.

Kings Island Backlot Stunt Coaster:

Lament over Hurler and Vortex if you need to (neither of which are that bad), but at least Paramount never got around to taking this huge dump on us.

Possible layout if they ever decide to remove the vortex for a launched coaster. The red is what would be removed (scream weaver, and old game booths that are no longer open, also that pathway would be removed but there is the other path around ricochet) and obviously the big red is vortex. We all may be just getting ahead of ourselves but this could be possible in the next 5 years.

Now that, I would love!
