Interesting is right... Everything about this new ride is completely different than what Will envisioned from what I'm hearing. The location, the type, everything is wrong, lol.

I'm not sure I totally agree.

True, he never said what company he wanted to work with nor the type or location, but Will said he wanted a steel launch. He even said that to a bunch of us at his last HWN.

And he said on record that the park would eventually have Voyage's station and Giraffiplung would be the center of the park.

This may not be what he envisioned specifically but this definitely goes toward what the master plan seems to have been.

Had he not passed away, would we be getting this? Probably not. But I'm not sure this us against what he had in mind.

According to the website: http://www.holidayworld.com/thunderbird/incubator/

Nearly a decade ago, the late Will Koch began talks with Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) as part of his search for Holiday World’s first major steel roller coaster. B&M specializes in the delivery of custom-designed roller coasters, and Will knew this highly-regarded group of Swiss engineers would design a steel coaster like none other for his park.

Can we hear what you are hearing?

It was supposed to be a B&M invert in the employee lot as per their 20 year master plan. By placing it where they did, they've cut off the water park expansion as Will had originally planned.

Ahhhhhh.....so do you think banshee had some factor of it being switched to a wing rider? I wonder if it would have been launched as well...

No idea on either concept.

Thunderbird looks like a fun ride and I'll definitely ride it. But seeing how great Banshee turned out makes me wonder what they could've done with an invert.

If they wanted to go for the world's tallest invert, they would've had to beat Wicked Twister which stands at a massive 215 feet tall, Banshee is only 167 feet tall.

B&M is fabricating the launch, Intrasys is supplying it.

Wow, I asked that a while ago. Yeah, I know the whole deal, long sense. It's just like how Clermont makes the track and supports after B&M designs them.
