Ok this may be putting the park down but it is a must say. First off today was one of the few bad days of mine at the park. I went to get on Thunder Road I asked to let us race they shook there head no. So with that they should not even bother to call this a raceing coaster. I went to get on borg on an out side seat I might add. The guy next to me was to big for the ride and had to get off the train. This happend while he was pushing my lap bar down. So he helped him off the train and then came back and locked my bar down on the 3rd lock. I know some of you have seen me at the photo shoots so you all know how skinny I am. I think this guy was blind because he set the bar for someone 200 pounds more then me. The bar had to be at least 6 in. off of me if not more. On any other coaster I would have let this go but not on this thing I would have fallen out. So I asked him to push the bar down lower and he gives me this mean look and growl. Yeah real friendly workers. This is really putting the park down so I can let the Thunder Road thing go but not Borg. Now I will stop complaining. Feel free to post your comments.

They must've been blind, as you said. And this is the very reason why I always check my own restraint when I get on these rides. Sometimes the 'check' is nothing more than just a tap....if that. Then again, I wasn't there so I cannot say that the attendant was totally in the wrong. Are you sure that the restraints were all locked at that time? I've noticed on some of the Vekoma coasters that I have ridden that it takes a few seconds for the restraints to lock and unlock...well at least on Deja Vu.

Im gonna ask the question why do you need someone to push the restraints down on you. Im not tryin got be funny or anything but generally they just check to see if its locked because they probably feel that most guest are capable of fitting the restraints down to a cofortabel and safe level.................And just because the coaster doesnt race as often as it should doesnt mean they should just 86 the fact that its a racer. Honestly speaking to some of you guys who make note of how the coaster doesnt race, how many of you tell that to someone who matters. Now i dont know scott that well but im sure he has an ear that is very willing to hear what you guys have to say. If someone who makes a difference hears that then im sure there will be a change. By complaining on these boards nothing will probably be accomplished.

So bottom line i suggest contacting someone at the park that wears a tie and voice your opinions, all of you. Cause it doesnt matter to me if they race or not lol lol lol as long as im on it!!

Oh yeah they were locked he was starting to walk to the next row when I sayed something. Then when he came back to push it down more he gave the signal to unlock my restraints. I really wish I would have gotten a look at his name tag. I miss the crew that ran Borg at the photo shoots. They were the best they knew what to do before they knew they had to do it. A tap is an over statement for one guy on Thunder Road crew today. He I know for a fact did not check my bar one time. When he did it wasnt even a tap it was a 2 finger touch. On a side note Thunder Road never (not that I had seen) raced all day long. I even asked a few people if they seen it race today and they said no. I am in no way saying that it should race all the time but when someone ask to race I think they should. There were a couple others on my train that wanted to race.

Why don't you go to Thrill Research and fill out one of there Carowinds satisfaction surveys:

<a href='http://www.parkfeedback.com/research/survey.aspx?s=FEEDBACK' target='_blank'>Paramount Parks/Carowinds Survey</a>

You can comment about the bad sides of your day directly to the park, though I doubt the Thunder Road racing thing will go that far.

Or just Snail Mail them. That ALWAYS gets a response:

They dont want a survey from me man it would be a mile long  . It is a good park but I complain about every little detail like it is a big deal. I guess there is one of me in every group.

Maybe even go by Guest Services on the way out on your next visit and mention that you'd like to see Thunder Road race?

And your safety isnt a big deal.............So what was your intentions for starting up this post...........either your gonna voice your opinion or not. The park rely on feedback and by you not saying anything is like sweeping dirt under the rug so to speak

It seems like everytime I go to PC (or any other park) there's ususally a handfull of rude employees that no one can stand. If you have a problem with something at the park... take their survey or write them a letter & give them the 411.

If Thunder Road has a long line.. they usualy won't race because that lowers capacity. If there's hardly anyone in line.. the op's should do their best to make them race. There's probably an op there that doesn't give a flying crap about peoples thoughts so thats why they're not racing. If you don't say something to a higher official.. it won't get fixed.

^^and a lot of times it's just plain ole abuse of authority. Many of these ride ops have never been in a position where they can call the shots on a job. The mere suggestion from a park guest, (in this case, asking to race Thunder Road), gives them a reason to use and abuse their authority.

Where is Dr. Possum when you need her????

I always fill out the surveys after every visit to the park. On every survey I complain about the crew of, and the non-raceing of Thunder Road. Still nothing but hey, I am but one person.
I have also noticed the ops getting a little lax in the checking of safety harness. I truly hope we have no fly outs like other parks have had recently and yes, I do mention this in my surveys. At least once on every other visit I have been on a ride without getting checked.

This is why I do not fill them out. I feel like I am filling it out for nothing. Coasterbruh my safety isnt a big deal? I would like to hear you tell any theme park that. If safety was not a big deal then there would be no workers to check the restraints.

I can tell you that you wouldn't be doing it for nothing. A poster on these very boards wrote comments last season about the music in the park, and about the loading confusion on Drop Zone. Not too long after that, as you may have noticed, movie soundtracks started being played in the park instead of repetitive pop songs, and arrows were painted on the concrete at Drop Zone directing each queue to the appropriate seat. Maybe it was his suggestions that caused this, maybe it wasn't. Either way, I can say for certain that if you write thought-out and informative suggestions, the park will read them.
