Jonathan's response to the first coaster thread made me wonder...have you all been to enthusiast events? If so, what was your first?

I went to an ACE event at Magic Springs in Hot Springs, AR in the early 2000's. It was awesome seeing other people that are as geeky about coasters as I have always been. We got ERT for an hour before opening on 3 rides, and then another hour of ERT on Arkansas Twister for an hour after closing. There weren't many of us there, so I got to ride it without getting off except to change seats for the entire hour. So cool.

I haven't joined ACE SouthEast yet, so I'm excited to join and enjoy an event with this group!

Mine would have to be the ACE Spring Conference at Silver Dollar City when Wildfire opened in 2001. Had so much fun that day and I've never looked back!

Don't worry! Joining is on my to do list. :)
I'm out of town for Carolina Coaster Classic, but I'll join before the winter event and make it out to that one for sure!

I joined ACE in 2010 because of Carowinds Connection. I had never heard of coaster enthusiasts before then. My first coaster enthusiast event was Smoky Mountain Coasterfest at Dollywood that year. Since then my whole family has joined and we've been to ACE events in VA, GA, OH, NC, and PA. I need to get my but in gear and attend a few more.

Knott's Winter Coaster Solace 2005. Followed by West Coast Bash (when ACE ran it, before Blobb Alvey took over) the following day at SFMM.
