It's cool that we're on that list, but I wonder what criteria they used to determine their "top 10". I would think either SDC or Dollywood would have made it (instead of Six Flags over Texas!) and no mention of either Busch Gardens? I also would put IOA way above Universal Studios if you're gonna put a Universal park. Four Cedar Fair parks in the top 10 is interesting.

you guys that keep saying Dollywood is great, whens the last time you been there. I was there recently and Mystery Mine and Thunderhead were the only decent rides they had. Wild Eagle is a very boring slow dull coaster. Rest of the place is just gift shops.

Dollywood is a GREAT park. Its not just rides that make a park great. And I love Wild Eagle, it's not an adrenaline rush but it is a very fun coaster in my book.

I was there last month. I see you only mentioned coasters. They have a nice selection of flats in the County Fair area, a historic fully operational steam locomotive, shows that are on the level of Disney, and great food. You also neglected to mention Tennessee Tornado, arguably one of the best works ever from Arrow, one that I can ride over and over again.

They don't just use local performers. We saw a bubble show that was performed by a guy who travels the world and holds multiple Guiness records. His show was top notch and Dollywood pays to bring him in every year for a month or so.

EDIT: How could I forget to mention their staff?? They went out of their way to make our visit as enjoyable as possible and were super friendly. Once again their staff is at or at least near the level of the Disney staff.

I've never been to Dollywood (I know, my life sucks), but you neglected to mention their food. Lol I want some Cinnamon Bread!

I was at Dollywood last month, and I agree with everything Arby said. Theme parks aren't just about the coasters for everyone. Some people love those shops and shows. Dollywood (and SDC) are both great in my opinion because they have awesome coasters for the coaster enthusiasts, great flats (Dizzy Disk and Barnstormer are both awesome...there's a version of both at each park), shows and shops for the non-thrill-seekers, and the best food at any amusement parks. They're parks you could take three generations of a family to, and all would have fun. Those parks are TRUE theme parks. You feel transported to another time when you're there.

I know, right! I agree with everything you just said. So many people adore that place, which I guess is fine if you like music, gift shops, etc. If I had to pick beween Dollywood or Carowinds, it would be Carowinds without a second thought (but, I only go to theme/amusement parks for the thrill rides. Atmosphere is great, but that comes in second (for me)

lol btw, how many times has a theme park teased a new gift shop? They dont because thats not what gets people through the gates. New for 2015 Cinnamon Bread! Cmon guys were all enthusiasts here. If Carowinds was teasing a new gift shop or something like that, all of you would be extremely pissed. So lets judge parks on why most of us actually go there for, the rides.
