General Carowinds discussion

I thought it was a great teaser. I bet that Carowinds monitored how many people called that number. Great for advertisement purposes. But anyway, back to the coaster.
I am still very sure that this will be a B&M (although I'm sure that we've settled this debate like 30 pages ago).
As for the Mantis refurb. I don't think that retracking would be necessary. All that they would need to do is repaint the track and adjust the station settings to accommodate the floorless trains. No need to retrack.

Now, as for the Teal track with Lime green spine (or yellow, whatever it was), I think that track is destined for Carowinds. Just my opinion. Anything else that needs to be added?

Brannew85 wrote:The neon and teal track... I know everyone has had quite a bit of good speculation and ideas that the track is for our coaster, but I did want to ask, the track looks a lot like the test colors cedar point is trying on mantis... I know mantis is a older B&M and I am no where near as versed in mechanics and track design, but if they are truly considering changing Mantis to a floorless train or some other design, could that track be for mantis re-tracking or refurb? Just figured I would toss in that thought/question although I do realize we are running out of track colors being spotted at the Ohio plant. Thoughts? Also I do apologize if someone tossed out this idea already I did try to search the forum before posting.

I don't think they will be re-tracking Mantis. It is probably for Fury 325 or whatever it will be called.

That makes sense.. I figured it would not need a full retracking but was curious if maybe some portions like the transfer track or tracking leading into the station would need to be changed.. Thanks for the info FamousAmos

They aren't, although it would be a cool statistic.

I hope that we'll be selected, but if I am not selected (or anyone else on CC for that matter), it will still be a win win for us. They will be streaming the event live online. But there is no better feeling than to be there in person. I wouldn't know though.

I think Cedar Fair should pay a fee to Dreamworks to name the new coaster Night Fury... after the main character in the "How To Train Your Dragon" movie. "A Night Fury's main type of attack style is dive-bombing at enemies at great speed. The most feared and terrifying dragon in the world is the Night Fury. Little is documented about this dragon, speed: unknown, size: unknown, your only chance is to hide and pray it does not find you. These stealthy, high flyers are so fast they're almost never seen."

"He's the Ferrari of dragons. Very, very fast. A lot of dragons have giant scales and are spiny. He has the clean, sleek look of a panther."

and since I'm partial to Ferraris...
