If you're spending time online to discuss Carowinds with others, then you clearly love amusement parks. We are all here with different 'things' we love the most whether it is roller coasters, dark rides, carousels, food, etc. I purposefully used the word 'thing' to leave the topic wide open. What is your favorite amusement park thing?
I grew up going to Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, and various county fairs. At the fairs, the midway was my favorite place. There was always excitement in the air with bright colorful lights everywhere you looked, the sound of people screaming from the rides, the smell of all kinds of food floating through the air, and a wide variety of entertainment from tractor pulls to bands, to sideshow acts. Many senses were stimulated.
My favorite amusement park thing is the atmosphere. Sure I love coasters and ride them every chance I get. But my favorite thing remains the atmosphere. That's what I love so much about Family Kingdom at Myrtle Beach. It has more atmosphere than many of the larger parks.
