All I can say is that it's about time. There has been a lot of people disappointed in the delay and I'm sure the park has suffered some loss in income this summer. Hopefully it will be open by Labor Day.

Staff Begins Riding Falcon's Fury

Several senior staff members at Busch Gardens Tampa took an inaugural ride on Falcon’s Fury earlier today, including park president Jim Dean, vice president of design and engineering Mark Rose, and director of design and engineering Jeff Hornick.

A park spokesperson sent us this statement late in the day:

“We are ride testing with specific safety and operations team members, but we do not have any updates on when park employees, or the general public, will be able to ride.”

While there is still no official opening date, this marks a major step as Intamin hands over the ride to the park so employee training and testing can begin....

I will say though.. This thing looks terrifying. I have ridden our Drop Tower countless times and Dr. Doom Fearfall (or whatever it's called) at Universal... But daaaang Falcon's Fury and Zumanjaro!
