I'd love to see multiple attractions next year, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a flat added along with our giga. But I just don't think it would be able to fit in our budget, (assuming that part of the budget is used for a minor 2016 expansion).

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Harmony Hall alone was $7,000,000. I can't imagine how much was spent this year. And on top of that, a $30,000,000 coaster plus a new park entrance for 2015. Call me a buzzkill, but I don't see how a flat could fit into the $50,000,000 budget.

Maybe 2016 will be an off year...

The $50,000,000 is more of a bonus than it is a limitation. A park doesn't usually drop $50 million, this is just extra from Cedar Fair.

I suggest making time fly by, maybe, binge watching the newest season of Orange Is The New Black on Netflix. Unless you're a conservative, then maybe House of Cards. :p

It's interesting that the arrival of track and construction for Intimidator was progressing faster than this, and yet, it's a smaller coaster than this is going to be. Since this is a larger coaster it seems it would take longer to construct. I wonder why intimidator's track arrived before the park went to weekend only last year?

In 2010 Intimidator was the only new constructed coaster by B&M. The only other that opened that year was a relocation. That may be a factor as to why it was at the park sooner.

Not sure when the Intimidator licensing contract runs out but it could be 2015 (A 5 year contract). So they could indeed be announcing that Intimidator is changing names. This is very unlikely but it's something to think about.

^ I can't see Carowinds or CF in general being that short-sighted. If they knew they would have to change the name and theme five years later, I doubt they would have gone through the theme in the first place.

Unfortunately, its a fact that EVENTUALLY Cedar Fair will lose the rights to use the Intimidator theme. I just don't see that happening anytime soon. Certainly not next season.

Say either CF or the rightsholders of the Intimidator trademark are unable, or chose not to allow it to be renewed. That's a very real possibility. Or (knocking on wood), Cedar Fair sells Carowinds years and years from now. Not that I even remotely see that happening TBH.

I don't mean to sound like a doomsday prophet, but one day its bound to be renamed, the themeing isn't guaranteed forever.

I have just a normal sized brain, and even my normal sized brain knows that they wouldn't spend 25 million dollars on a coaster and only have the theme locked down for 5 years. I'm sure their lawyers got it all straightened out where they could renew it at the same rate, or have it locked down for 20 years, or whatever.

It's possible though that they have an escape clause in it where they can get out of the deal whenever they want... and now that it won't be the biggest in the park, maybe they don't think it NEEDS the license since it's no longer the main draw of the park?
