Hersheypark is also open around the holidays and has a few rides open. Of all the "Winterfests" I've been to, I prefer theirs but it could be because of the chocolate.

Talking on and off about the Parking lot(s) and entrance, has anyone else noticed the placement of the new drop off area? I marked it in yellow.

Jarvis, Dollywood makes a crapton off of food and merch sales. Like I said, it has to be worth the money. They may have a shortened off season at Dollywood, and they may have to push to get rehabs done. But I bet they make a killing in November and December.

My only concern is I would not want to drop off my teenagers there, unless I could watch them all the way to the entrance.

Solid point, but what's to stop the teens from just leaving after they walked in to the park if that's their plan (this applies to season pass holders, obviously)?

I was thinking the same thing. Even at Kings Island their drop off is way at the edge of the road. It is alot longer walk than ours is going to be or it seems that way.

Everyone walks miles during a day in an amusement park yet complains about a 1,000 foot walk to the entrance. Probably the same reason everyone cruises around the parking lot at shopping malls looking for a good space so they can walk 50 feet less. God forbid anyone get a little exercise.
