General Carowinds discussion

Sorry guys! I didnt mean to get you all excited...

I actually didnt get much....

they were actively working in their lot...moving that truck/crane type machine in the picture (that's carrying the orange track)-

So, I didnt want to get out and be 'nosey' with activity in progress. One of those semi trucks actually had a driver in the front seat with the truck running...like they were ready to transport. However, I'm guessing thats for the orange track...and Holiday World. But, I did see some Holiday World track moving down I-71 last Tuesday and it was on a FLATBED...not on an enclosed trailer. So, I'm a little curious.

Just a few notes-

Lots of teal track. The picture doesnt really show it...but I'm guessing there is 15-20 pieces...easily in the yard.

It reminds me ALOT of Banshee when the track was ready to ship to Kings Island. They filled the yard.....and then one day trailers showed up....

I'll try to check back another day/night and hope that they arent actively moving things in the yard...and I can creep up a little closer...

great pics. Flyer or no FLyer, that teal track is going to carowinds. I dunno what that other track was for with the yellow, but the solid teal is carowinds.

The dark blue supports/station whatever seems to be gone, either moved from sight or shipped.

Pure speculation on my part....but...

Something I didnt notice in person....

the truck with the driver (#4486) If you zoom in on the picture, you'll see the driver in the truck (that was running) has a flatbed trailer (didn't notice that with the 2 enclosed trailers (on each side) So, that active crane-machine that was moving the Orange Track...was most likely moving the orange track onto the flatbed (like I saw on Tuesday for Holiday World) So, its possible that the enclosed trailers already have track on them...or the track that's in the yard will be loaded into them.

But, I think those enclosed trailers might have something to do with Carowinds. I've only noticed flatbed trailers in the past (with Kings Island) and Holiday World

The containers are typically for track that is being shipped overseas on a container ship. As far as I know domestically track is shipped on flatbed trucks.

Back on page 123 DavidW explained why the teal track appears to be for a hanging (inverted or flyer) coaster. My guess: the teal track is being shipped overseas and the teal/yellow track will be prepared next for Carowinds after the orange Holiday World track and plain teal track are sent off.

Yea I was kind of confused. That teal with yellow strip that most people seemed to like was a different shade of teal than these latest pics. So I wasn't sure if it was the same. Leviathan is a really awesome looking coaster though, but I do hope this one is somewhat different looking. But if it's not, it's ok.

If the teal/yellow track is carowinds,I think the supports may be the same color as the track. If you look at leviathans coaster its all basically one color, which is nice, but can also be confusing to distinguish track from supports. I think carowinds is adding the yellow pin stripe to kind of break it up.

if anyone wanted to know how big track pieces are, look at it beside that car. jeebus

That's a lot of metal there. And I agree, I believe that those are our supports. Being that our coaster is still (or should still be) in production as the Thunderbird track is completed and hauled off to HW. I still believe that the Teal/yellow track is destined for Carowinds.

Why do people keep saying teal/yellow. Do you think it's the teal or yellow that's coming to us. I can't be both. ?
