Short answer. I plan my work around amusement park stuff as much as possible.

Long answer. I'm supposed to train some new employees in Canada Tue - Thu next week. I requested to change it Mon - Wed and my bosses approved. In order to potentially make the announcement, I'll be driving through customs Wed night so it's not an international flight. Then I'll get up at 3 am to catch an early morning flight. I'm also packing light so I know my carry-ons will stay with me. As long as my flight is on time, I'll make it to Carowinds in plenty of time.

If I was in town for the announcement, I'd take a personal or vacation day.

No idea, but I'm sure the park will let you know in a follow up email. If not, I'd assume to go to the park like you normally one. There should be signs directing you were to go.

We own a business, so I set my own schedule. I can still get plenty of work done that day, even with attending the announcement.

I accrue 8 hours of bacau a month and just got a bonus 5 days so is take a couple hours off but I'm not in Charlotte right now I'm 3 hours away training.

Lots of adults get day jobs with vacation. It's a new fangled thing to you younguns I guess.

...and most of us aren't wealthy (unlike Coasterbruh ) so we can't afford to travel with all of our vacation time. That means we always have a few days left over to enjoy things like this.

It's so great to find people that find this stuff as fascinating as I do. Most people around me, don't get it. Ha Ha! Thankfully I work for a company that understands my "coaster" needs!

In his defense, Jarvis... this might be his 'thing.' College Football is mine. If I had the chance to drive two hours to watch FSU announce their 2015 recruiting class, I would be first in line. Most are probably thinking, "what a colossal waste of time" while I'm thinking, "This is the greatest thing ever!"
