Yes, that's where they came from. Thanks for refreshing my memory.

Hey guys. I'm making my first trip to SFOG on Sunday, Labor Day weekend. Does anyone have any experience about going Labor Day weekend? Will Sunday be any better? Should I consider the Fast Pass?

Don't, lol!

It'll be packed and Sunday won't be any better, but you can still have a good time. I would hit Scorcher first (since it'll prolly be open before the official rope drop) then hit DDD (to avoid a long line and then Goliath. Head on down to Mindbender and Batman afterwards before they get a line (Mindbender is running one train so it'll be crazy if the line is super long). From that point you can climb the hill up out of Gotham City and head left hitting the other coasters and you pass them. They will all have a line and none will move faster than the others so just pick one and wait it out.

Make sure you get a ride on Monster Mansion and Acrophobia!

If you're planning on riding everything, or riding something multiple times, I would consider buying a flash pass. Dare Devil Dive has long lines, and the low capacity doesn't help. So either ride this first thing, or get a flash pass and ride. S:UF also has long lines. Both DDD and S:UF have 1 hr + lines. I went on a Saturday in June, so crowds might be different for you. Goliath, Mindbender, and Scorcher are must-dos.

Thanks, everyone! A few more quick questions...

How does the riding of Scorcher early work? What time should I arrive if the park normally opens at 10:30 that morning?
Also, I'm a business major so managing time comes natural. Am I correct to assume that the Regular ol Flash Pass will do just fine if I am keeping up with everything 30 to 90 minutes ahead of time?
Last, I can currently get the Regular Flash Pass at $30? Does the price fluctuate? Is this a good rate?

Thanks again!

What's the deal with that?

Checking on it...

They block off the paths at the train tracks until 10:00 and most everything before that opens a little early to help with the anxious crowds waiting for the rope drop.

The crowds start to gather about an hour or two so before the gates open so pulling into the parking lot about 9:00 or 9:30 would be good I would think.

I know nothing of the FlashPass stuff. Can't help you there.

Thanks for such a thorough answer, Jarsh. Much appreciated!

Would I be best hitting Cyclone and then running over to Scorcher (I'm assuming it opens early)? Or vice-versa... but then having to run back over to DDD for it's 10:30 opening?

Depending on when they open, if you get there earlier enough you can hit Scorcher and Cyclone and be ready for DDD when the rope drops.

Now... keep in mind that this is Six Flags we're talking about here. They can change their minds about anything from one hour to the next.

Is that still true with the topper track? I haven't been to Six Flags Over Georgia in something like 8 years, but Cyclone was always a front seat of the last car ride for me. Crazy airtime.

Jay taught me a valuable lesson that day, forever changing me as an enthusiast.

I rode it earlier in the day in the middle, and it was quite awful other than where the topper track had been installed. I had discounted it as a terrible coaster. After meeting up with Jay and Doug, Jay said I needed to ride it in the front so I went back and gave it another shot. While it was still a bumpy ride, it was actually a good ride.

The lesson I learned is that you can't truly judge a coaster by a single ride on it. So unless I'm trying to just get a credit, I try to ride multiple times before I pass judgement. A coaster isn't in my top 10 unless I've ridden it multiple times in different seats.
