As long as the paint mixture colors are coded, i.e. the colors mixed to make that color, then more paint can be mixed at any time to paint more pieces of track. Computer simulations are nice but as a owner I would want to see the paint scheme on the actual track. I bet their are some close up pictures of those pieces at Cedar Fair corporate. Maybe even pictures of a mock-up with a painted support piece attached, blue support maybe? They do mock-ups of the exterior of commercial buildings for owners all the time. So you paint a few pieces, get approval on the colors, set them in the yard until the other parts are ready for paint and then mass produce.

It's possible those two pieces sitting out there painted were done first so the heads at Fair could see the finished product and approve the color mix. I'm sure somewhere out of view, there are lots of unpainted pieces waiting to be finished. If you will recall, in all the years folk have been taking pictures up there, we have never really seen lots of unpainted track sitting up front. There have been a few pieces here and there but not a lot. I 'm assuming up front is the final resting spot after painting, right before it is loaded up and delivered.

Hopefully by the time Scarowinds is done, there will be enough vertical construction done that we can watch from the outside. Then there is always the cam.

This might be a dumb question but even if the track isn't here in time for the announcement will we still have an idea of what the coaster looks like? In other words will the track colors, station design, etc be announced then? And more generally what kind of stuff do they actually announce at an announcement from someone who's been to one.

No such thing as a dumb question if you don't know. Yes, you will know all there is to know at the announcement, except maybe the finished landscaping. The renderings may not be exact, but they will be very close.

Awesome thanks guys. Like everyone I'm excited for the announcement. I work about 10 mins from the Carowinds exit on 77 and I think my girlfriend is getting tired of going up twice a week and riding Hurler over and over just to see the footer status.

Something tells me you're not familiar with Cedar Fair. They will have a full animation, and we will know just about everything by announcement day.

As I've never followed any other construction at any Amuesment park I was wondering if someone who has followed other coasters construction could guess if we would be looking at a chain or cable lift? I'm personally hoping for a chain lift.
