General Carowinds discussion

While riding hurler today I saw that they had been doing a lot of drilling and tearing up in the bus parking lot. Being a good boy I did not try to take pictures on the ride.

Low quality picture of the lift footer
Some interesting colored dots, anyone know what they could be?
Not much is changing up here

In reply to Bigcoasterguy... I am thinking that this is how the construction [i]may[i] go... I am no coaster expert so bare with me here...

1)First track pieces arrive the day of or a few days before the announcement (so as to be unveiled after the announcement).

2)The first track sections will be erected for the station as the rest of the land is cleared and the remaining footers are poured. That will be basically continuing the work that is going on now. I'm pretty sure that the entrance will change to a degree and concrete paths must be cleared.

3)First track sections are erected so station can be built as the remaining footers are poured. This area may still be sectioned off by the wooden fence from inside the park.

4)By the time that the park closes for the off season, I would think that most of the higher areas of the ride would either be completed or in the progress of completion before winter closes in. By this time, the fence inside the park next to Hurler can be removed and now comes the part where you (Bigcoasterguy) mention the dots in your photos...

5)I imagine that that whole area where the dots are will be changed. Maybe to include a new flat ride of some sort.

I said all of that just so I could talk about the dots on the asphalt.
Just my thoughts.
Any other ideas?

Well, I forget the title/publisher of the news article, but in 2012 Wonderland did "advertise" in the article that they held that record! I think I remember them saying that the chain was just under 1000 feet long.

No one knows. But there is speculation that it is for a flyer going over seas. The shipping containers at the plant supports this theory as well.

Have they moved the power lines that run on the south side of the old bus lot? Those lines appear to be in the way of the new coaster.

The Markings seem to be for Sewer water and power was my thought, so the don't dig into underground lines. Green would be sewer,as there's a giant green dot right on a manhole cover. As i recall they have been there for a few weeks and you can see them lead off to the bathrooms and the shops and such.

Power lines are still there, there were some footers and large squares/rectangles that we're cut out in the lot.
