We have a lot of new members signing up because of the soon to be named giga. In 2009/2010, a lot of members joined when Intimidator was under construction. I think the forum, as a whole, started as a way to keep up with Borg (Nighthawk) construction. I didn't join because of a huge construction project, but rather when Cedar Fair purchased the parks from Paramount in 2006. So, what say you?

I remember the planning stages for Carowinds Connection. I remember Jonathan asking me my thoughts on a name (I foolishly suggested Carowinds Central) and what I'd like to see in a fan-site.

It was pretty evident something was happening to the old Smurf Island in 2003. Jon threw some teaser construction pictures up on a page, and later added a forum. I was already friends with him, so he asked me to be a moderator. Been here for 11 years. How is this even possible.

It was in the later stages of me and my kids being together because of their ages. They went to many parks with me and knowing I would have a void after they were grown and gone I did some searching on the internet for anything Carowinds. I came up with A.C.E. in which I joined so maybe I could partake in some gatherings.

I can't honestly say exactly what got me on this site but it was after I saw some updates and via communications met several members at the park. From there it just snowballed and here we are today.

Oh, and it didn't hurt that the one I thought would start it all was a Wolfpack fan.

I am always curious as to what is going on at my home park. Every time I would search the Internet for what was new for Carowinds the coming year, one of the top search results was CC. I lurked for awhile as a guest and saw that this forum was really quite friendly and accepting of everybody's views, as long as they were respectful.

I didn't know anybody before but since then I've met at least a dozen members including Jonathan, Jay, Wormy, Jarsh, Montumax, and others at park and ACE events. CC is really a great place to hang out whether there is a new Giga being built or not.

I'm an ACE member and was digging for clues on nighthawk and this site popped up on my laptop. I lurked for years until intimidator was being speculated. I joined at that point and I'm glad I did. I love it here even when there's some slight bickering. It's like a digital family. Lol

I hung out with Jon and Jay well before CC saw the light of day. I think it was #Hangout? I enjoyed the park and keeping up with friends. Plus there is some really great entertainment in reading the forums.

Although I've read this site almost religiously since the days before Carolina Cobra was announced, I just made an account this past spring so I can participate and bring forward my ideas about the new coaster. I almost felt left out in a way when reading and watching last time around during Intimidator's construction.

I think I use to browse another site after top gun came out. then when BORG came I signed up for the boards. The site crashed and we had to re-sign up for it. Im still here...

seriously, I've known jonathan for years and the rest of the funky bu...whootah (do you all even use that name any, ore?) Bunch. Ive gotten to know other enthusiasts from the area that haunt these boards. Ken aka swamp fox probably being the oldest. Others include doug, mark d, steve, and of course the devil himself jarvis. I was pretty regular for a while then kinda visited sporadically because of health issues. I'm doing better than what I have been and I'm starting to ride coasters again. So, I'm back here and in a few other places and its really helped me out a lot.

Moved to Charlotte in 1998 from Southern California. Grew up with Magic Mountain and Disneyland. Always been a theme park fan. I might be one of the older members as I turn 50 this November. Joined CC in 2009 during the construction period of Intimidator. Met Doug before bit don't recall meeting the rest of you over the years. Looking forward to tomorrow. Carowinds is in the world spotlight and it's fun to say its my home park.
