Four times wider? The rest of Carowinds Plaza looked the same but for the bridge to be four times wider, some buildings will have to be removed. Everything in the concept art looked the same past the actual gate. Maybe they are keeping some surprises for the offseason. Any word on a new or improved fountain?

According to John, the fountain is supposed to have some pretty cool NC/SC stuff. Much better than the current single sign you see.

I have come to terms with the Plantation House leaving, but honestly there's one thing that bugs me about this new entrance... (and I'm crossing my fingers it's just something left out of the animation, or something I've overlooked)

Where's the paved NC/SC border?? That is an iconic part of the Carowinds experience, even more so than the Plantation House. I mean everyone has those family pictures of standing in two states at one time next to the big sign.

I sincerely hope they pave a new one so that tradition isn't lost along with the plantation.
This is something that can be saved easily.

I'm not sure... The pics make it look like they are chopping up the current SP lot and making it half buses and half SP parking. I mean, they are losing a good bit of the bus lot to Fury 325.

IMO, the white line doesn't really look like it stands out that much. But that could just be because its an animation, and in-person it might be more clear what it represents? But whatevs...

So... Regarding the new toll plaza, did they abandon the original plan?




Personally, I prefer the more southern design that was found a few months back. But they both look fairly similar.
I wonder if the sign is a screen or not? Maybe if it's a screen, they could alternate logos? (I really like that new/retro carowinds font)

Looking at the birds eye view of the parking lot, it look like the old SP parking will be soley for the bus lot and then there's a white sidewalk or curb that separates the old parking from the new this could be for SP holders or they just made more handicapped parking and extended the preferred parking.

My understanding from what numerous Carowinds officials said is that the entry plaza that you see is still 'concept art' in that it will generally look like that and not necessarily exactly like that. They still haven't decided on what to do with the round planter that shows Carowinds in the concept art. They have a few ideas but they needed to get something in there for the announcement. It may be a fountain, it may be a planter with the logo.... so I wouldn't base everything as 'exactly' what you see.

Yeah, that's a good point, everyone should keep in mind that the purpose of the videos and renderings was to show off Fury.
