General Carowinds discussion
#62722
Julie and a few others mentioned that they really want to transform Carowinds into a destination for the Carolinas like Dollywood is a destination for the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee... and it's not just the front. They plan to overhaul the entire park so each area is representative to an area of the Carolinas with food, other things you expect to see in that area. I don't expect it to be a Disney level of theming but I really do think they plan on making some level of effort to reach that goal.

That is great to hear that 2015 seems to be year 1 of the 3 year expansion project. As mentioned above, that would leave room for a nice selection of flats.

I think the current aerial photos compared to the ride animation shown a nice increase to the main parking lot. That should free up parking on the opposite side of Thunder road for a water park expansion. I would rather have some new flat rides but the water park does bring in the GP.

He likes,trees, let's hope he likes,flats too.

I am going to go ahead and put out my thoughts.
About $15 - $18 million for a wing coaster.
About $1 - $3 million on a flat ride. (I have no idea how much they cost)
The rest of the $ that they have on new paint and adding floorless trains on vortex.
I would like to see a new family ride too, but I might be asking for a bit to much... (maybe a log flume?)
