Please don't kill me for this. I'm doing this out of curiosity. Who would be willing/wanting to campout opening day for a shot at first ride? I don't even know if I would but just to see what y'all think. I am curious tho,
1. Does the park even allow this?
2. How early do you need to get there?
I'm assuming you would pitch a tent at the front gate. I've never done anything like this before but I am considering it. Just want to hear what you guys have to say.

I don't know if the park would allow it, but if there's enough interest it's something I can reach out to them about (though they are probably reading this so here you guys go; free idea).

The campground is open year round.

EDIT: I'm not interested in camping out at the front gate. I would possibly be interested in doing it at the campground, though.

If they let us hang out, "football tailgate" style, then I *might* be in but I doubt they allow us to set up grills and coolers.

Grilling is prohibited but I don't know about drinking. It was allowed in the Cedar Point lots, I know. The "trunk bar" was always open.

I spoke to Julie yesterday, she said that usually, members of ACE and Carowinds Connection are invited to media day, which she said would be held a few days before the 2015 season starts. But their still planning the finer details to that event.

I would definitely be interested in an Opening Day Campout. I hope I get an invite to the Media Day as well, as I got an invite for the Announcement, but was not able to make it due to something that came up the night before.
