Might close this thread soon since it's essentially "Wishlist Thread 2.0." All speculation should be towards the expansion of the waterpark behind Thunder Road, anything else is just flat out wrong.

A little birdie may have told us there was a reason this year's waterslides were delayed. And it wasn't because of the weather!

They Cant take down Thunder Road!

They won't take down Thunder Road. They'll just make a path under it, just like Kings Dominion did with Rebel Yell for their Water Park.

Although it's hard to see through the trees, (Ah KD and their trees <3 ) there is a path under Rebel Yell that gives access to the slides and wave pools to the right of the picture.

Cedar Point's Soak City has a pathway beneath Magnum that connects the water park together.

I dont think 2016 will be a water park expanson. Carowinds just added 2 slides and kinda squeezed them into a small area. Why do that when you already have an expansion planned? Doesnt make much sense. I'm leaning more towards some type of "epic" water ride.

I think you're thinking about it all the wrong way. Maybe adding the slides was a necessary expansion to get them closer to where they want to be in 2016? Maybe they added more than just the slides? Like say.. necessary infrastructure to get them to the other side of Thunder Road?

Not uncommon to have a small "phase 1" and a much larger "phase 2."

I concur sir. I remembered looking at your pictures of the new slides and saw the pathways under T.R. All someone has to is look at Jay's photos in his signature to see them. I'm not sure why the slides were delayed but I'm thinking it was part of the planning that needed finalized or as you said infrastructure or structural details needed completed for the future.
I think a lot of us figured eventually the water park would go on the other side of T.R. I just didn't think it would take so long.

I think u guys misunderstood what I meant. There is a ton of room on the other side of thunderroad, why try to squeeze 2 more slides into an already cramped area if your gonna expand to the other side of thunder road anyways. I guess one could argue better usage of land. what could they put over there though now that they already added 2 slides? Another slide complex like KD's getting? Another wave pool? Splash Battle would be nice or somethiing like Crushn Gusher at Typhoon lagoon that has a water coaster for multiple passengers.

Also doesnt thunder road already have some kind of path under it?
