General Carowinds discussion

Anyone purchase the Dining pass for 2015 yet? I went ahead and renewed gold for my family and got dining passes. I'm not sure about the quantity or quality of food under this plan but it was cheap enough I figured I would roll the dice. I don't normally eat at Carowinds--I live less than 4 miles from the park so I visit very frequently (about 25 visits this year so far). I figured even if it's just a drink for everyone and something small, I will still get my money's worth over the course of the season. I wanted to see if many other folks are going to go with the dining plan as well as opinions on this option.

I got mine with my gold pass. Are the dining pass restaurants going to be the same ones that are on the single day dining plan?

The food they served at the announcement sealed the deal for me. That was some good stuff! I haven't ordered my pass yet, but will definitely go for the dining option.

Will it include drinks? I always get the refillable cups, but I could see myself just bringing a water bottle and drinking sofa just with meals if they're included.

Any idea how meals it would take to "pay back" the cost of the dining plan?

Coming from 80 minutes away, we don't make a lot of visits but we are planning on getting Gold passes for 2015. I've always eaten outside the park so I'm trying to decide if this is worthwhile?

Most meals in the park are $14.95 plus tax not taking into account the 10% discount for gold pass members so your looking at six meals breaking even if drinks are included in the meal plan.

Basically if you visit the park enough to get the value and extra from the gold pass and eat both meals a day you will get the value and extra from the meal plan.

That blog post makes it seem like it was definitively announced by CF that it would cover all parks. But I don't know how reliable that source is.

What is the cost difference for platinum vs platinum with dining? I bought the gold pass with dining, but may do platinum with dining next year and try to get a few new parks in.

The difference is 114. I had no pass last year and found myself at 4 parks (carowinds, kings island, cedar point and knotts) last year lol...so I think im gonna go ahead and get one and the food option...

Well I've been a platinum pass holder well over 5yrs and added the season dining plan because I eat a lot in parks, like Coasterbruh, I to always find myself at multi parks just last year I ended up at Carowinds, Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Knotts Berry, Dorney Park, and ValleyFair. The last three of which were surprise trips lol. I did the same with 6Flags this year. I just got the membership pass and added the dining on it as well.
