Does anyone think that we might get the standup trains from mantis for use in Carowinds? (in case anyone didn't know, mantis at CP is being converted to a floorless coaster) They seem to be much easier to load/unload due to the fact they don't have to 'snap' back into full upright position after each unload. Also, they stay in position without having to fight to keep them held down while loading. Both are B&M standup coasters, so probably not much in the way of retrofitting the station.

that would actually be a nice idea but I think they would have to make adjustments to the station

The Vortex trains and Mantis trains have slightly different mechanisms, so yes. The station would have to be altered to fit the mechanics of the mantis trains. But I hope they don't bring those trains down here. I hope they do to Vortex what they are doing to Mantis...

vortex is too short a ride to do that, would be pointless.

It's really the only thing that can be done to Vortex, unless they decide to demolish it entirely.

Changing the trains wont change the fact that it is a compact coaster with quick transitions. How has changing the trains helped Gwazi, Son of Beast, EXT Screamroller, X2 and Cliffhanger?

Me personally, I like it the way it is. These are just suggestions.

Mantis is a large coaster in a park that has had capacity issues with said ride since it opened. It was a large investment that can have its issues remedied with a conversion that will no doubt add capacity to the park AND they can market it.

Vortex doesn't have the issues that Mantis had. I won't say it will never happen, but don't look for it any time soon, if ever.

The park has to get its return on investment. I'd wager a bet that CP will see a return on this investment in one year.

PS X is much better as X2. Wildcat seems to work with new trains. Just because it didn't work to make a couple rides better doesn't mean it can't work.

But why spend money on a ride that isn't an issue and replacement parts are readily available?

if carowinds wants to fix a coaster to help with capacity. get the engineers down here to look at Night Hawks station. I swear it feels like they dispatch a train every 20 mins.
