I rode Wildcat with the MilF trains and thought it was fine. Did I miss something?

Vortex does have capacity issuee, not to the level of Cobra or Nighthawk. Mostly do to riders not listeningduring loading but most if not all standups have this pproblem.

I dunno. I rode it in 2004 with PTCs and on several different days throughout the season in 2012 with Millennium Flyers and it was pretty bad. It's hard for me to really remember 10 years ago to accurately compare, but I don't remember it being any worse before.

Bad as in boring or bad as in rough? I thought it was pretty boring myself with the MilF trains but it was super smooth. Just very meh.

As for Vortex, there's rarely ever a line. No line for a ride in its 20s. Mantis always has a line and the line is dismally slow. It's a totally different set of circumstances with Mantgourou. Poor capacity. Long lines. Larger initial investment with a smaller investment that will really pay off.

If the only reason to change Vortex's trains is because enthusiasts want it, it ain't gonna happen. If the park sees a financially responsible reason to invest, they will. Simple as that.

Will it happen? Unlikely, but in some universe it is possible.

Heck, I'd probably like the ride as a floorless.

Then I wonder if that's a maintenance issue or something. Heck, it was so boring on my last visit roughness would have been a nice change.

I'm afraid that that little amount of money will do nothing more than provide a band-aid for the area until more money can be raised for it. That exit is a total cluster-duck with regards to traffic and with Fury 325 and Cabela's opening, it's only going to get worse.

I'm betting that money will get them far enough to make the construction area a bigger inconvenience before they run out and all that's left is a mess.

I think a possible solution that may not cost much, is in the back of the bus parking lot, there is a path through the trees leading to general drive that hits westinghouse, people can then get on 77 N/S from there.

That goes completely against the way they're reconfiguring the parking lot (not to mention it's not conducive to the way the parking lot is now)...

And it empties onto General Dr., that would do nothing but dump a bunch of traffic on another road that isn't built to take it.

It isn't that hard getting in and out of Carowinds if you know what you are doing. Here is a hint, there is second exit back by the new drop-off.

If the parking lot exited much like SeaWorld with multiple exits along the avenue, with the one-way spike strips, I think that would help alleviate some congestion leaving the actuall parking lot, and at least push more traffic onto a straightaway, giving at least the illusion of movement.

Would I sound like the biggest dweeb in the universe if I said that I think they should play the old Carowinds theme song in the new entrance plaza next season? (or maybe at the toll booth)

Of course I don't mean 24/7, but more often than it is played now. I think it adds something to the experience, even if it is a tiny bit cheesy. Playing it every hour or so would be a good nod to the past, and help bring back some of that southern charm the park is craving. Just a though...
