So, I have decided to start a new model. I will recreate the Carowinds North Entrance as it exists now ( aside the current demolition) I will recreate it with exact detail as it appeared this year. I will post pictures of my sketches and of the project as I go along.

Wake me up when you actually start doing something and this becomes something more than a thread...

These things take time. I have already started the sketches and begun gathering the needed materials. I will start sculpting the structures this week.

Here are my first sketches:

This is the basic idea. I will use this one as a guide when creating the model in a larger scale (HO scale to be exact)

Here are the actual size drawings of the Ticket Booths. The height of each one is about 2 inches.

At this scale, if I include everything from the bridge to the toll booth, this will be a large model (say 2' by 2').
My next step is to draw plans of the plantation house and surrounding buildings which shouldn't take me but a few days (I am also juggling my college work) so I have to plan accordingly.

I'll post more updates soon :)

I am now working on the sketches for the Plantation House. I can't wait to start sculpting it!
I will use the following materials for the structures:
--air dry clay
--cardstock
--acrylic paint
--clear plastic
--wire

For the landscape, I plan to use Floral Foam, Paper Mache, Cardstock, Acrylic paint, Fake Foliage, metal Wire (for trees and such), HO scale people & cars, and a few other materials. Although all of that is still in the works.

So I added more to the sketches of the ticket Booths:

The lamp-post I need to find a photo of it so I can get the design correct

No, I'm fresh out of high school. I started college this year at Patrick Henry Community College. Majoring in Art General Studies. These are not even my best drawings. Here is an example of one of my paintings:

I also made a model of Hogwarts from Harry Potter (here's a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmYm2CMdmyg
I plan to make another one (smaller and more detailed).
I also play piano and have written a series of books (not yet published). There are so many projects I have completed over the years, But this one is one of the more important projects.
Right now, I am drawing sketches of the Security-Check Booths:

This project will take me a while, but I plan to be completed by the time the Winter Warm-Up comes around.
Next I will draw sketches of the Admissions building, then the Plantation House and surrounding stores.
Then I will draw the Toll Booths and other architecture near the structure.
Afterward, I will begin sculpting the structures and anything else that needs to be made from clay.
I have a lot ahead of me.

The Titanic painting is beautiful.

I do have a question, though...and this is totally the mommy in me...

If you're spending all this time on Carowinds stuff, are you spending enough time focusing on your school work? If you used the time you're spending on Carowinds stuff to do school work, could you be doing even better? Or even working toward early graduation? It just seems like you spend a ton of time focusing on this stuff, and it would be sad to see your school work suffer because of it.
