I am planning to go on a vacation trip to a park next year. I have already been to BGW and SFOG. Which parks do you suggest that are in <10 hr. range from Charlotte?

Dollywood is my home park so I will have to include it even though we will be forgoing passes there and opting for Platinum Cedar Fair passes for 2015. King's Island and King's Dominion both are worth a visit as well as Cedar Point, which might be right at the 10 hour mark for you.

Hershey park is probably one of my favorites within a 10 hour drive, if nothing else but for Skyrush :P

I second Jay's Knoebels of parks that are greater than 10 hours from Charlotte. I also recommend Silver Dollar City. Anaheim is also > 10 hour range from Charlotte and I recommend Disneyland/DCA/Knotts. ;)

I think my favorite park is BGW for theming. It's a beautiful park with a great atmosphere. My favorite coaster at the park has to be Verbolten. The launch is quite powerful (it's the only launch I've been on, so don't judge me). The drop track is pretty awesome, and the drop of the bridge is decent.

Cedar Point's my second favorite, but I haven't been since 2008. I need to get back there soon.

If you want to experience more launches then Kings Dominion is the place for you, but I do second or third Jay's motion on Knoebles that's a great park. I'm probably pushing it but Kennywood is great too; I haven't been since they transformed steel phantom.

I'm debating between Cedar Point, Six Flags Great Adventure, and Knoebels (Holiday World and Kings Dominion are close calls).

If it was me I would go to Dollywood just because it is not too far away and it really is a great park.

Don't choose Great Adventure.

Knoebels, Kennywood, Holiday World, Busch Gardens, Dollywood, Cedar Point... You really couldn't go wrong with any of those. Knoebels is my personal favorite.

I disagree, in a way. If you're doing multiple parks, you can do Dorney, Hershey, Knoebels, and SFAdv on a trip.

^^ I'm not going to multiple parks (although I would love to, my parents are making me pay for this). The parks I was talking about above are the ones I am debating between.
