[EDIT] I have changed the topic name because most members don't want a chain.

[s]I made this fun little topic about food. Anyways......

I'd love to see a Bojangles' added in the near future. It's based in Charlotte, so it fits along with the Carolina theme. For location, I'd have to say Papa Luigi's spot. Plus, any amusement park with Dirty Rice is a good amusement park.[/s]

I definitely think a Bojangles would both fit in and attract lots of business in Carowinds.I also think a Subway or even a Popeyes would be nice.

No more chains, be they local or national. That's what I'd like to see.

If I'm going to pay a premium price for something at least let it be something I can't go down the street and get for normal price.

This isn't really a new restaurant, but I'd love to be able to take home the Chickie's & Pete's Crab seasoning home like I can with Bojangles or Steak 'n' Shake.

I can see why people don't want national chains at the park. I mean, I wouldn't want to see a Wendy's in the park when I can buy it on every exit. But smaller chains couldn't hurt. Showmars is a relatively small chain, and even though it's a place where us locals can go outside of the park, we can show off to our visitors what the Carolinas have to offer. Also, Showmars is really good. :)

^^this times 1000.

Would people really eat at an overpriced Bojangles, when Harmony Hall is right there? Doesn't make much sense to me.

I would however, like to see Wings converted into a "full service" restaurant. Dorney Park and Kings Island have these, and both were fantastic. Wings as it is now, is one of the weaker links food-wise, and this would be something to bring it to the level of Harmony Hall, but also have it be something different for the park.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Juke Box Diner converted into "Coasters Drive-In" like a few of the other Cedar Fair parks. It looks dreadful now.

I'd like to see a good homestyle restaurant. Or a Showmars. I've never ate there and there isn't one in the area where I live. I don't even know where the nearest one is. But I've heard it's good so I'm interested.

It was stated at the Fury 325 announcement that Cedar Fair is planning to continue to upgrade and expand the food offerings next year. With more Carolina themed menu selections. So there may not be a need for any more chain restaurants in the park. They already have Chick-Fil-A and Panda Express. But a Bojangle's could fit in with a Carolina theme since it is a Charlotte based chain. But I will say they did a super job with the food choices at Harmony Hall this year.

But I would not mind seeing some new chains outside the park for after we leave for the day. We normally don't eat a major meal while at the park, as I prefer to spend more time riding the rides and rollercoasters. And I don't want anyone to get sick and throw up, as that can be rather unpleasant. But it was nice to see we got a Culver's right across the street from the park, as they have good food, and the nearest locations used to be in Kentucky and Ohio. But I wish we could get a Frisch's Big Boy like they have near Kings Island in Ohio. Or a Skyline Chili.

Ditto. And even if they didn't go the route of a full service restaurant, a buffet style restaurant like Aunt Granny's at Dollywood would work as well.

I never even thought about this idea before... The park did mention that there were some things in store for the restaurant that hadn't been mentioned so maybe there is still hope. It would seem crappy to have a brand new coaster with the adjacent areas all renovated and then JBD just... there.

A Roy Rogers Restaurant would be great as well, as they have 3 big choices, roast beef sandwiches, burgers, and fried chicken. The roast beef is better than Arby's, and the fried chicken is very good. And they have a fixins bar to top your sandwich they way you like it. After separating from Hardee's, they are expanding again in Virginia and Maryland with nice clean stores, and good food. But not the travel stop version from New Jersey, which are mostly inferior to the free standing stores. They used to have a popular location in Greensboro, and I would like to see them return to the Carolinas.

I'm all for southern Carolinian cuisine, however I'm all for variety as well like a Mexican restaurant would be cool like a Chipotle but not the chain and maybe some Polish dogs and Bratwurst cooked in beer with grilled onions and sauerkraut or maybe I'm just hungry lol
