I would like to have a new wooden roller coaster come to PC. I would like to see one like Thunderhead, but only bigger, with the same type of cars (I think that they are Millenium Flyers.) I mean, right now, as I was told at Dollywood three or four times by the operators and other empolyees, that it is the number one wooden roller coaster in the world. And to me, out of the woodies I have riden(which is only the ones at Carowinds) it is.

Personaly I think that beast or son of beast would be the best wooden coaster in the world. The Beast is so long that you allmost say to your self when is the ride going to end.

I would love to see a new wooden coaster with an original layout (and lots of airtime!) come to the park. To me, I would be happier with this than I would a hyper (as much as I want a hyper.) I've been hoping that with Thunderhead's arrival and much heralded success, that other parks, including Carowinds, might consider building more wooden coasters in the future.

I know S&S seem to have a run on building some wooden coasters right now. Sunami and Hades, which I think is from the Gravity Group, seem to be two of the more interesting ones being built right now. But, it'd be neat if we could have a woodie boom like we did a couple of years ago. Of course, everything comes in cycles.

As far as Thunderhead being number one, let's see what the end of season polls say, mainly Mitch Hawker's wooden coaster poll. I know one website has already declared it the number one wooden coaster in the world. So, that's probably where the ride ops got that from.

Of course, it'll take a lot to know the Legend down from my number one spot and the Phoenix at number two.

Honestly I think we have 3 good woodys right now, and would like a Hyper first.

Then in about 5 years maybe a good 5000+ feet woody.

Something like Thunderhead would be awesome, but I'd really like a big airtime coaster.

I would love to see something like Thunderhead at Carowinds. But from what has been said here and other places I understand that Paramount is finished with woodies and that they don't plan on building any more for the visible future. I'd love to see Carowinds have the same # of woodies as PKD.

As for Thunderhead, it is the best woodie I've ridden. There is not one dull section of track from the lift to the brake run. The turns are intense, and the sudden changes of direction are mind blowing! While it is lacking some things (Could use more air) It is certainly a top 5 woodie and should not be missed if your a woodie fan. A perfect fit for Dollywood, the hidden [park] gem of the southeast!

Though I don't know why those M. Flyers are so weird. They're good trains(That provide a wonderfully smooth ride!), but some seats are smaller than others and the lap bars seem to behave different on every seat as well.

Top 5?: YES!
But it would be amazing if it actually took the #1 place.

I would LOVE to see A new woodie come to Carowindsâ„¢, I would like to see one like either A.Thunderhead or B.Roar, those look really cool!.

I think that gwazi dosen't have a dull section of track either. I applaude that manufacturer (whatever there name is) for such great coasters such as Gwazi, Roar, Lightning Racer, and now Thunderhead (which I haven't ridden yet, but expect to be good). Carowinds definately need a woody by that manufaturer (CCI I think).

I'd like to see another woodie at Carowinds, something with LARGE amounts of airtime. Cloning Georgia Cyclone would be fine with me. A Thunderhead-style GCI would be fine too from what I've heard about it, although Gwazi and Roar East did little for me.

However, I would be surprised to see one anytime soon. Except for PGA, all the Paramount parks have 3 or 4 woodies which is better than the average Cedar Fair or Six Flags park, which usually have 1 or 2. With parks that already have 3-4 woodies, there just isn't going to be a whole lot of draw power with a new one. Things like a rocket coaster or hyper are going to generate more buzz with the general public than a new woodie, even if it's a really good one.

I'm betting my airtime fix will be satisfied with a hyper at Carowinds before it is on a new wooden coaster. If Paramount adds any woodies I'd bet it'd be at PGA. Think of those poor people with only one woodie, and it's widely regarded as the worst on the planet. They could use something good, and that would probably be where Paramount would test out a GCI or S&S first.

I want them to get Hurler back to it's old self before they think about building any new ones......

Are you talking about how ruff it has been this year? I know for a fact that it is so I stay away from it now. This is strange seeing as how there is some new wood on it.

Roar East is a great coaster, but doesn't come close to Thunderhead. But I would be happy with a Roar clone, a little longer though.

Rough?? I didn't think that it was that rough actually, I liked it!! (Exept for the last turn that gives me a big headache)

I thought the Hurler was only rough in the turns. I've ridden more wooden coasters a lot rougher than Hurler. I didn't think it was that bad.

The manufacturor of Thunderhead is Great Coasters International. I think that they did an awsome job on Thunderhead, and should be given alot of praise!

My connections with GCI have told me that they are currently trying to work out a contract with Paramount Parks. I'm not holding my breath on this one but the idea of more wooden coasters @ Paramount Parks is very possible in the near future.

Paramount has only built 3 woodies in their parks since they took over. Hopefully they have learned from their mistakes with these rides. A first class woodie does NOT have to be the size of SoB. And the Hurler's are second rate compared to the majority out there.

Yes, I want an Intamin Hyper at Carowinds, but a nice GCI has staying power, kinda like a good B&M.

Personally, just lookin at the just of things, Paramount parks aren't really that good on up keep on wooden coasters. Wooden coasters are good but personally i would like to see another style of coaster like a launch coaster. I think the crowd will be drawn more to a launched coaster than just a coaster which they would probably refer to as "the coaster like thunder road". And it seems like wooden coaster are like a house pet. U have to really keep up on them or they will sh*t on your guest. I would rather see a wooden coaster 1) using a steel structure or 2) using laminate wood............but then again............isnt that the same thing as a steel coater w/o the loops. Wooden coaster are suppose to be rough but some times personally i cant handle some of it . Like thunder road..........the first drop has a jolting effect that just screams bloody murder!! And lets not talk about hurler......... :rolleyes: .

I think the park should look into adding 3 flats. After touring the park yesterday i came up w/ a master plan that will set the park straight!! It will require moving some rides and adding 2 new huss giants and one relocated ride back from another park!!
