That's it exactly. There was not a column there. There were only 8 of them, 1 behind each turnstile/podium.

Here are sketches of the Exit/Breezeway. This area was particularly difficult to design, considering I couldn't find many pictures or videos of it. I had to refer to my handheld shaky videography from 2012 to attempt to get the design accurate.

This is going to be a great project. I love that you're doing this. While the new entrance to the park will be awesome, the old one was iconic. It was the Cinderella Castle of Carowinds. It was the one building that you could tell was original, the building that had the most charm. I think that it is sadder to lose this than the log flume. I just hope the new gate is just as good.

I think it would have been awesome if they had somehow saved some of the bricks from the house and had plaques engraved and put on them, then auction them off for charity or something. I may be crazy but I would have LOVED one of those bricks.

I would have paid GOOD money for a turnstile and the capital of the main support Columns... if I had good money, haha. The money I have at the moment will be used for this project and a trip to the Winter Warm-up.

Okay, quick question.... and this is an important one too.
When I finish this model, the dimensions of it will be somewhere around 6' long X 4' wide, give or take 6".
I have no where to store this model here at home when I finish. In fact, I'll have to make it in Modules/sections for easy transport. I hope that the park would like to have it when I finish. This means a lot to me, and it should mean a lot to the park, considering I am doing this for nothing in return. I know that if this were to be displayed within the park that the old entrance will never be forgotten. That is my ulterior goal.

The following sketches are of the buildings on the South Carolina Side of the Plantation Courtyard: the "Thrillseekers" gift shop. These took several hours to sketch:
