Without South gate there will be less of a need for a bridge. It seems more cost efficient to fill the ravine in and build a regular walkway.

You lost me. What does the south gate have to do with the main gate bridge? The main gate bridge is there due to the maintenance road that goes beneath it. Second, 132 feet seems VERY wide. The golden gate bridge is only 90 feet wide.

South gate is supposed to be removed, the former bridge was 33 feet wide(google maps) and the one is supposed to 4 times the width. That equals 132 feet. South gate has no bridge or tunnel for the maintenance road around the park.

I think next year, our entertainment line-up will include that "Cirque Imagine" show for Kings Island.

I think the signs that were with the plantation house will come back (the sign on the state line, etc) since I saw them lying behind Hurler and Drop Zone.

While I was at the park on Sunday, I walked up to the gate where the former bridge had been. A security guard come up to me (probably because he noticed that I was interested in the construction) and said that the current NC/SC line is actually incorrect, and that the real state line is about 2 or 3 feet to the left of where the current line is. I asked him if they were going to redo the state line with the new entrance, and he said yes. It's quite funny to be honest.

My understanding is that the stateline has shifted back and forth over the years.

Looks like Concrete has been poured for a building in the new plaza.

I just noticed that the four flag poles are gone. (I'm sure that the four on the other side are gone too)

I made another front gate picture. I liked my first one, but it still didn't feel "Southern" enough. So I added stars and slightly changed the roof to get away from that generic look. The front gate in this picture is larger:

Is it just me or have they dug up the new road that they just put down in September?
