This one makes me a little sad even though I don't care anything about that theater (only time I've even been in there was during this employee "rally" thing) just because that little area of the park is one of the only places that hasn't been given the "modern" Cedar Fair treatment.

First, what's with the name calling? I can play that too, but I have more class.

Second, my comment was less about knowing what they're getting and more about No, they really don't need to get a dive machine.

Third, if you're stating something as rumor, then why don't YOU provide the info in the first post?

So wait, a bigger and long version of Griffon at BGE for the same money or less nearly ten years after Griffon was installed. Viral marketing at it's best....check the supermarket tabloids.

I'm skeptical about this, but two possible answers with regards to the cost:

1) Maybe Griffon was more due to Busch Gardens spending more on theming and landscaping? There's really not that much in the way of theming, though.
2) Perhaps more likely, if this was a memo between B&M and Cedar Point, the price may only be for the roller coaster itself and not a lot of the other costs for the overall project. No idea how that stuff works.

It all does seem a little fishy, though.

Hey guys...don't forget they make the jr. Dive machines like krake and olivion. They can't be that much money...andunder the new leadership it doesn't seem cedar point would be getting "taller faster" coasters as it is no longer the pet park...

In addition Sheikra was 2.1 million cheaper than Griffon and is 80 feet shorter in length and 5 feet in height. Even through Sheikra is shorter, I am guessing that the cost is lower because it doesn't include some costs. Seems to me, Sheikra has more landscaping and other expense(like tunnel). I could be wrong through.

I believe the $15 mill comes from the raw cost of the ride and not the surveying, leveling of the land and the construction of the plaza and other items. The steel to build the rides isn't as expensive as one might think, a lot of the injured costs come from the trains and dive trains are less expensive because the chassis are much smaller than that of hypers. So while the raw cost of the ride may be $15 million add in the extra work and the price tag becomes closer to $20 million which makes much more sense.
