General Carowinds discussion

I really think vortex should get a makeover for 2016. Paint it Carolina blue or a color that no other coaster in the park has. Rename it and change the trains. Give it a Rougarou treatment, maybe Centurion name can be added. Another idea is to make the hurler a hybrin coaster.

I'll take a few snapshots of Vortex from a few angles and change the colors.

Guys recommend colors! For the track, supports, etc. I'll edit pictures of Vortex as a concept design.

You know...Painting Vortex Carolina Blue and Black, then giving it the sitdown trains that are now more than likely coming and giving it the already designed Centurion name and logo (hey, they used the fake Bat name and logo and colors since it went over so well) would be a really nice addition in 2017 along with some family flats and a Disk-O Coaster in County Fair.

Hint Hint. HINT!!!!!

Or they could call it Black Widow to fit the creature theme of Leviathan, Banshee, and Rougarou... while also giving a throwback to a past ride (like the Harmony Hall name returning).

I didn't want to join the CC photoshop fan club but I just had to do this:

I can see how this could be a bit off topic, which makes me wonder if there is/should be a thread for making graphics and stuff that are somewhat wishlisty...

EDIT: In all seriousness though, I genuinely do see Vortex becoming floorless in 2016 as a cheap addition to be paired with the rumored water park expansion. New trains + paint = whole new coaster.

Me too! When it was going backwards, I rode backwards many more times than forward. It was so fun and made the drops more extreme because you couldn't see them. LOVED IT! :)

IT's amazing what MS Paint can do. I honestly hope that Vortex gets a name, color, train style, and theme change.

For some reason I was thinking the open top helix tunnel had a roof on top in the early 90's...

Nice job on the editing Amos, I would love them to Paint it that color, then give it a roman look with the Centurion name would be awesome! Or if they wanna go with the North Carolina way they can name it the Tarheel!

Why disgrace a coaster by naming if after the scandalous flagship university? Looks more like Panthers colors anyway. If you want to name it after the baby blue cheaters, you could call it Wheels for Heels. This would be PJ Hairstons favorite coaster. Maybe James Michael McAdoo could be a ride op since he's looking for a job.

I was just saying since they always go for the North Carolina themes Fury(Hornets), Carolina cobra,Carolina cyclone that they can possibly go that route again, I rather they name it Centurion and put some roman theme to it. This will also add to style to the park.

Despite being themed around hornets, Fury has no connection to the Charlotte-based NBA team.
