. Technically you are correct, but look at the Hornets logo and compare to the Fury one. They are very similar for a reason and I for one don't think it's a coincidence that the Fury name and logo were chosen around the same time the NBA team changed its name.

They actually did themed it around the Hornets name, The Hornets nest is Charlotte so it does have a connection to it. Anyone that's from the Charlotte area knows that, and It's not a coincidence that the NBA Team and the coaster both have to do with a Hornet. On that note I really hope they change the Vortex completely, The Intimidator should be the only red coaster in the park and we should deff get a coaster with a color that isn't on one already.

I'm trying not to be a grammer nazi here, but it irks me when people say "the" before a name of a roller coaster that shouldn't have it. Besides that, I think that the colors should be something original to the park also, but we do have a fair share of blue coasters (Carolina Cyclone, the supports on Afterburn, the supports on Nighthawk, and Fury 325). I think the color should be orange, green, or white.

I believe proper nouns use the word "The", so I believe that the use of it before a coaster's name is proper.
"The" implys singular as in the "World Trade Center" or "I am going to the local Walmart". However how many times have we all went to "the store", which begs the question of which one.

I have to agree. I wrote a research paper on a General Manager career, and when I put "the" in front of the name of any ride, it made a lot more sense, grammar wise.

Not only is it inaccurate, it's just plain annoying to hear 'the' in front of many roller coaster names. Sure, occasionally it may hit the ear better in a full sentence (such as "The Intimidator"), but often it does not (like "The Montu" or "The Afterburn"). Besides that, the names technically do not include "The" so adding it is not always required... But whatever.

I think roller coasters are probably a gray area but generally should only have the article in front if it is in the proper name (i.e. "The Voyage"). The use of "The Millennium", "The Dragster", "The Magnum", etc. was a common annoyance among all the employees at Cedar Point.

Just another reason why English is a ridiculous and confusing language.

^^^ Agree!! Plus we say things wrong so much until when said correctly it sounds totally wrong when it's the correct grammar, but really who's going to say "The Fury 325" tho?

I don't say "the" in front of any ride name, it's strange. However, I must put "the" in front of the name on any paper in order to have "proper" grammar. I hate it in all honesty, but at least I got a great grade, and that's all that mattered at the time. When I'm at Carowinds (or any park for that matter), I just say the name, and that's it.

This Sling shot we will be getting, I think that it will go in the Vortex plaza, but the fountains and trees (for the most part) will remain. All that must be removed are the two game stalls and there we go, a perfect spot for this ride. Would there be any "fancy" name? Or would it just be called "Carowinds Sling Shot"?
Anyway. Back to you guys.

This would seem to confirm the Sling Shot as being not only real for 2015, but that it is indeed coming to the North side of the park as well."

But that still doesn't solve the question of whether or not it will go in the Vortex Plaza, or in front of Scream weaver. I will just go with my gut and say that it will go near Vortex where those two game stalls are.

This probably shouldn't go here but it's better than creating a new thread...

I've been staring at the pdf construction plans for the park for a little while.

I think that in 2016 we will expect, of course, the "Big Splash", but also that is when the renovations to the campground will occur. The current campground parking lot will be given a new face-lift and a huge expansion, according to sheet #30 on 2 of 2 approved plans. The bus lot road will be redirected around this new parking lot. The campground parking lot will have many trees, so there will be lots of shade. And to the current parking lot on the opposite side of Catawba Trace Rd, more trees will be added.

I think we should expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 14 new cabins, and most of the current cabins will be renovated. One main storm water erosion control basin will be placed as well as a smaller one behind the cabins.

Also, where the turnaround on Thunder Road meets Carowinds Blvd., we should expect to see more trees.
But anyway...
