i think a hyper would fit nicely in PC, but will it happen? PKI is rumored to get something, but no one knows, if you guys were to get one, it won't be for a little while since BORG just landed. But i think a Jr. Hyper would fit best, Intamin is a genious, just look at those pictures of Expedition GeForce and Goliath, amazing.

Yea I love those coasters, either one would be great. (Right where rapids leaves, if it happens, leaving the water?)

yeah i think that would be a nice spot, but is there enough room? For some reason i don't see it fitting there.

I think PGA, PKI and PGA will all be getting clones of Vekoma's first hyper. Of course, they will make each train 1 car and have a riders-per-hour capacity of 100.

Yes, I would love a hyper. I like B&M, and Intamin AG. They both have differnent qualities. I like Intamin because, I think they design the best tracks and footprint, and there trains are awesome. You feel like theres nothing to support you!!!!!
I would also want a B&M only because There trains sit more ppl , therefore lines will move faster. Also B&M's wouldnt have as many problems as Intamin does. I'm not saying that Intamin sucks, I just would hate for Carowinds to close an Intamin hyper because of things that went wrong with the Superman clones, that might go wrong again. But what-the-heck, Intamin mega coasters rule!!!!!!!!

First, tall isn't necessarily scary. Someone mentioned getting a jr. hyper because a hyper is too tall and implied that it might be too thrilling (if that's possible) for the park goers of Carowinds. Did you know that most people will get on a 200ft. tall coaster with no inversions before getting on something like Top Gun? Going upside down tends to freak people out more than being 200ft. in the air for a brief moment.

I would love a hyper, and my favorite hyper is Raging Bull. That is the most spectacular B&M creation I have ridden. Apollo's Chariot is good, too, but man, Raging Bull is phenomenal. http://www.rcdb.com has some good photos of it, as does http://www.coastergallery.com. My favorite photo of the ride that really shows the convoluted track is HERE.

^^ Im guessing you were tryin to quote me but I never said it will be too tall for ridership purpose I implied that I, personally Feel like other parks will do better by getting a hyper hyper. Carowinds is known for its smaller coasters that packs punches. I would personally like to see a semi-terrain hyper coaster at SFoG. And I think a jr. hyper would be better fitting for carowinds. Just my personal opinion. But then I started thinking about the height of drop zone and xtreme flyer and they are kissing the 200 ft mark so I guess a 200ft coaster wouldnt be that harsh on the skyline.

That was just those coasters............it hasnt happen to all of their mega coasters........Those were the clone coaster so therefore they all share the same componets. Coasters will have problems but some more than others. I dont think carowinds will have a capacity issue being that its still a regional park so bigger trains wouldnt be a must.

Im currently designing a jr. hyper in nolimits I hope it comes out pretty good!!

Vekoma hyper? Hmm.. I heard their woodies were good, a hyper I had rather not see though.

After riding some of the best that each of the 3 aformentioned companies have to offer this past week, (B&M's Nitro at SFGAd, and Intamin's SROS at SFNE, and Morgan's Steel Force at Dorney Park) I can say without a doubt that Intamin is by far the most intense of the 3, and Morgan being the most lackluster with B&M being an excellent ride without being too intense. B&M was also the most comfortable, reliable, and had the best capacity as well.

..So, the best ride? Intamin of course, although it depends heavily on the design. SFNE's SROS was more fun and intense than any of the others, but I didn't much care for SFA's version with it's flat helixes and long flat stretches of track, although I know some people (such as the webmaster of this site) who disagree with me.

Ok what I'm trying to get at here is that I would love for carowinds to get a twisty-out and back combo sort of like SFNE's SROS without being a SROS clone. My second choice would be a nice long B&M (although I doubt it could beat Apollo's Chariot a few hours away). And finally, I wouldn't even want a Morgan, I had rather have a mirror clone of Medusa in the parking lot.

^LOL. I agree on the Medusa comment.

Coasterbruh, Drop Zone and the Sky Flyer aren't that tall...Sky Flyer is 153ft. tall and Drop Zone is right about the same...I think less than 10 ft. taller. So, a jr. hyper like you were saying would fit nicely with the height of the current structures. Goliath is only 153ft. tall. My only concern...in one of the recent Ace magazines they had an article on the European coaster tour, and every enthusiast said it was a great ride, the only problem was it needed a little more speed. I would hate to get a beautiful coaster and have it turn out to be mediocre because it lacks some umph.

Drop zone is 174 so 26 more feet wont be that obvious from ground level. I cant believe im making myself see the other side!! But I still like small coasters that pack a big punch.............

Oh yeah you know you coaster whores are :D every thing has to end in "er" ie; taller, faster or perhaps closer just to name a few so I dont go by what most enthusiast have to say..........especially when it comes review. They are like the simon cowell of the theme park industry.

I know that this will never happen, but how about a Giga coaster! One that is taller than Top Thrill Dragster, but Has a cable-lift hill and has many drops! But, this will never happen to PC!

I'm riding raging bull for the first time in 2 weeks!!!

And superman ultimate flight for the first time!!!

Also I have ridden the mirror image of SFA's SROS at SFDL (Intamin's first hyper). I thought that the helix's were a little intense, but kinda boring. I did like the straight section before the 3rd hill because it built up some anticipation and you could yell to the person next to you "This is awesome" lol, well, the best part of the ride was the last 3? bunny hills, really good with alot of air. I really loved the mist at the bottom of the first drop.

A twister style hyper like RAGING BULL would be nice, but Intamin is still my preference.

All the previous talk about height reminded me that the original Morgan hyper slated for Carowinds in 2002 was slated to be 206'. I can't remember the exact length but I know it was close to 4000'. So yes, the park was thinking BIG. The layout had it stretching from behind the log flume over to Scooby and in into the parking lot. Of course, seeing that back in 1998 had me on pins and needles with excitement. Then, it was decided to send it to PGA but the zoning council would not approve it. So, back in the box it went.

The hyper coaster dream for Carowinds may become a reality sooner than we think. And seeing how the park had already planned a 200'+ coaster back in 1998 (for a 2002 opening), means it's certainly possible that they could do it again. With more proven brands to choose from I can only pray they DON'T choose Morgan now.
