General Carowinds discussion

My husband rode the Borg yesterday evening with my daughter. He said it
wasn't anywhere nearly as scary as he thought it would be. He was a little
nervous when he got in the line. I watched them ride it and both of them had
their hands up "flying" the whole time.
The second time we rode Top Gun, they made my daughter get off so they
measure her. She wore flip flops so they measured her barefooted. The ride-
op squinched up his eyes, flattened her hair, and then said "Just barely" so she
really really really IS 54" (we'd been measuring her at the signs outside the
ride with her shoes on) It's good to see the ride-ops enforcing the height
requirement.
We also watched the parade. It was cute. Patrick (from SpongeBob) is adorable.
He came over and hugged me :D. We stood in front of the Borg ball and I don't
think that was the best place because it seemed like a lot of action was happening
up in front of the Rocket Power Airtime area. We might go see it again and stand
there.

Sounds like a great trip. Getting me excited about going (please be good weather)! So, what type of Interaction is going on exactly?

Is there music going along with the parade? Does it move at a particular pace?

I'm still amazed that Carowinds is even attempting a parade, I kinda see where they have some room for a parade route, but I really didn't think they had enough hidden space for floats and such to start and exit out of the park. Sounds like it really drives the Nick Central theme home (as if it wasn't a great retheme in the first place. As simple as the Rocket Poower retheme was, it really fit in quite well. As did the Log Flume Thornberries retheme.) Carowinds really is kicking it up a few notches.

So, is the lines at Top Gun still as long as they use to be? Also, which ride has a higher height restriction, or are they the same on Borg and Top Gun?

Mom, you must've been one of the parents that don't pitch a fit when the attendants check your child's height. You know it's actually rare to have parents that actually care about their child's safety, and that is a shame.

Anomaly lets not get started on that lol

if they have to measure the kid, they have to measure the person, it's safety. Glad you had a good time!! :D

I know someone that's been on it 60 already ;) (seriously) :)

But 13 of my rides were on the video shoot day, and 6 were on media day. So that's a big chunk of it.

Thanks BGW and all for welcoming me so nicely to this connection board.
I know I'm probably the only female that reads and posts here.
That's OK. I'm used to being one of the few females at all the
Star Wars things I've gone to too. I'm glad you value my opinion
from the point of view of a mother who takes her children to Carowinds
(who just happens to be a rollercoaster fan). I found this site while
searching for a picture of White Lightning to show my daughter. I didn't
know anyone cared about Carowinds and it's history besides me.
Thanks for this most interesting message board!
(I'd post a pic of me and my kids from 2003 but I can't figure out how)

Nope, I'm here & a mommy too. :)

We went yesterday too. After we all got soaked in the rain & our stroller was soaking wet too - we left. We were wanting to see the parade
