The Lodge needs renovated. We rented it a couple of weeks ago and while it was in decent shape, one of the breakers kept tripping. It probably didn't help that there were 14 teenagers in there with all kinds of electronics and chargers.

That's good to know... thanks for the heads up... we have already reserved it for one trip this upcoming season, and we will have many of my colleagues in there with electronics, etc.

I'm sure this has been addressed but they are building a new kennel, right? I'm only able to go to Carowinds in the first place because I can bring my dog. I don't have a fenced in yard and live 100 miles away so I won't leave my dog inside for that long.

I suspect most of the parking lot has never been repaved. I believe that part of walkway in the parking lot is leftover from the parking lot trams. I also doubt speed bumps would slow cars down, I find them fun to fly over. Especially some of the huge ones around Charlotte.

They have drastically improved speed bumps these days. There are a couple in my friend's complex that you would screw up your car's alignment for good if you went over 5 MPH over them. Add a bunch of those and you will fix the problem. Guarantee.

For reference, it is the circuit that feeds the bedroom beside the kitchen (2 sets of bunks and a queen bet), the two full bathrooms, and the huge chandelier over the dining room table. I think there are also a few other things on that circuit.

Anyway, I'll be posting a TR on the cabin soon.

I have been observing how nice the new entrance looks now that the grass is starting to fill in. I think all the colors of the entrance go well together and look really sharp. I can't wait to see how it looks in a few years when the trees they planted start to grow and fill in.

The kennel entrance is along the wooden fence near Intimidator. You enter from the old parking lot, not from the main entrance. There is a sign for Lost And Found and a sign for Pet Sitting (I think it says pet sitting).

Pet Sitting....right.
They aren't even allowed to feed the animals, or take them out to relive the themselves. I can leave my dog in her crate with food and water all day for free. Amusement Park Kennels including Disneyland just seem inhumane to me. I live about 75 north of Carowinds and my dog will just sleep all day. We tried having a family member take her out twice a day but never would go out and potty. I guess she is like Snoopy but doesn't sleep on top of her crate.

Kings Island no longer offers kennel service, they have a outside vendor that offers the service off-site for a fee.

Well, I live 90+ minutes from Carowinds. I can not just leave my dog in a crate and hope he doesn't use the bathroom all over himself while I am gone for 12 hours. I take him to Carowinds. About midway through the day, I go pick him up, take him to an open field where I (and friends) have a picnic. He is able to eat, drink and I am able to let my dog run around in the field.
This is why Carowinds has a kennel and I, for one, am so grateful for it. I would not be able to come to the park without it.

I also appreciate that a lot of the parks have kennels although I have never had to use one. I understand the liabilities they need to protect against with their policies which I think are the same at most places we've seen.

SFGAdv's parking attendant almost made us use their kennel but after speaking to a supervisor I got cleared to leave our dogs in our RV (really?) since I leave the generator and air conditioners running. We've done that at dozens of parks, malls, and restaurants without issue around the country.
